The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.\nWaymo’s Technical Program Managers and Program Managers are accountable for Waymo’s roadmap execution by providing thoughtful cross-functional planning, clarity, and proactive risk management. In the face of complex technical and operational challenges with no established playbooks to follow, we act with thoughtful urgency, driving conversations, discussions, and outcomes. Our team partners closely with every function of Waymo to structure, own and drive work towards real-world deployments of the Waymo Driver across platforms and geographies.\nYou will:\nLead cross-functional technical programs to integrate Waymo's autonomous service with third-party platforms.\nOwn the technical delivery of external integrations end-to-end, from creating the cross-functional execution plan to defining the process for ensuring continued quality post-launch.\nServe as the primary execution counterpart for external teams, translating an ambiguous set of work into clearly defined deliverables, owners, and schedule.\nDrive technical trade-off decisions across scope, schedule, scalability, and user experience.\nProactively identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks and dependencies across multiple concurrent partner programs, and represent them to executive leadership.\nBuild the scalable frameworks, processes, and tooling that let Waymo onboard and operate many partner integrations without a linear increase in effort.\nYou have:\n7+ years of experience leading highly complex, cross-functional technical programs with a holistic understanding of business-wide functions (e.g. Product, Engineering, Business Development, Operations).\nA track record of shipping consumer-facing software products and features, with demonstrated ownership of the execution from kickoff through launch and post-launch operations.\nExperience running programs where critical dependencies sit with teams outside your direct influence, and a track record of getting them to deliver.\nStrong technical depth: you can read a system design, hold your own in architecture and API discussions with engineers, and tease out the scope, schedule, and risk implications of each option to drive the decision.\nDeep care for the end user, with the ability to keep rider experience and quality at the center of technically complex, multi-party programs.\nExceptional communication and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to align diverse internal teams and external partners and influence executive stakeholders.\nWe prefer:\nExperience with external-facing integrations, platform APIs, or B2B2C products where another company's engineering team was a critical dependency.\nExperience in rideshare, mobility, delivery, two-sided marketplaces, or other products where software coordinates physical operations in real time.\nExperience launching products or integrations in multiple geographies, including navigating localization, payments, and regulatory requirements.\nFamiliarity with defining quality gates, testing plans, SLAs, and launch readiness processes for systems shared with external teams.\nTravel requirements:\nOccasional travel for partner working sessions or market launches\nThe expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
