The Superintendent ensures that all production activities meet company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements while maximizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduction Management & Operational Efficiency\nOversee poultry further processing operations, including portioning, marinating, battering, breading, cooking, and packaging for retail distribution.\nManage production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing labor and material resources.\nEnsure all processing equipment is properly maintained and utilized to maximize uptime and efficiency.\nMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, waste reduction, and labor efficiency.\nImplement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and minimize costs.\nFood Safety & Quality Assurance\nEnsure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements for further processed poultry products.\nWork closely with Quality Assurance teams to maintain high product standards and address any deviations.\nEnforce strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and allergen control protocols.\nParticipate in internal and external audits, ensuring facility readiness and compliance.\nTeam Leadership & Workforce Management\nSupervise, train, and develop production supervisors and frontline employees to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.\nConduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement corrective actions when necessary.\nEnsure compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.\nFoster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.\nInventory & Supply Chain Coordination\nWork with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and ingredients.\nMonitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock that could lead to waste.\nCollaborate with logistics teams to meet shipping and distribution requirements.\nProcess Improvement & Cost Control\nIdentify and implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.\nAnalyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.\nDrive initiatives to improve yield, reduce downtime, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).\nSafety & Compliance\nEnsure a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA and company safety guidelines.\nConduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and hazard assessments.\nInvestigate and address safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.\nRequired Qualifications & Skills\nEducation & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).\nHACCP, OSHA, and Food Safety certifications are a plus.\nExperience\n5+ years of experience in poultry processing, further processing, or food manufacturing.\nPrevious experience in a supervisory or management role in a USDA-regulated facility.\nProven track record of improving operational efficiency
