FUNCTION\nThe Shift Manager manages all aspects of production and provides leadership for employees on second shift.\nRESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS\nResponsible for entire shift operations including oversight for maintenance personnel.\nAssist supervisors with supervising and training production employees.\nWork with all employees to ensure production/yield requirements are met on a daily basis.\nEnsure safety of all employees.\nWork with Quality Assurance department personnel to ensure all food safety and specifications are met.\nParticipates in development of employees within designated areas.\nEnforce company policies/procedures.\nAdminister corrective action plans and disciplinary actions to ensure consistency.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\n1 - 10 salary and hourly employees.\nThis is a Leader of People position with required competencies: Sizing up People, Delegation, Planning, Customer Focus and Conflict Management.\nMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nAt least 3-5 years relevant experience in similar production environment; preferably in the food industry.\nBachelors Degree or equivalent.\nPrevious experience in poultry industry, preferably with First and Second processing.\nPREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nPrevious supervisory/leadershipexperience.\nPrevious thermal processing experience. \nREQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:\nWorking knowledge of poultry processing, food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMPs and HACCP.\nProficient knowledge of production processes, general line maintenance and staffing.\nProficient English language knowledge and skills (oral and written).\nDemonstrated leadership skills and abilities.\nDemonstrated success building effective teams with proven ability to lead by engaging and motivating a team and influencing an organization.\nEffective interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with all levels within the organization.\nProficient knowledge and use of Microsoft office programs.\nAbility to work in fast paced environment with multiple priorities.\nAbility to handle and resolve most issues independently.\nHigh work capacity, dependable, results oriented and strong sense of urgency.\nDemonstrated sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.\nREQUIRED PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:\nUnderstand and interpret data while drawing logical conclusions based on available inputs.\nCritical thinking skills in standardized situations as well as non-routine problems.\nManage multiple tasks and
