We provide a supportive culture that is team-focused and places value on healthy work dynamics. \nWhat you will do: \nTeacher's Aide/Assistant is responsible for providing behavioral and academic support within the classroom to the students and teachers. \nAssist Special Education Teacher/Instructor in delivering curriculum. Act as substitute teacher when necessary.\nThe Teacher Assistant is expected to act professionally and in a manner that is consistent with Wayside's core service values: resiliency, excellence and diversity. \nProvide 1:1 support to students to maintain their ability to stay in the classroom. Offering behavioral support interventions if a student is unable to maintain in the classroom. \nBe able to multitask competing priorities to enact the program structure, strive for identified standards of behavior and to provide a positive role model for youth. \nCompetencies/Traits of Our Superstars: \nHigh quality customer service (i.e. ability to connect with others, approachability, being respectful to others, able to communicate with others at all levels). \nAbility to assess and manage risk. \nAbility to set limits and support the school culture. \nFlexibility and creative thinking (i.e. ability to adapt and adjust to changing work situations, processes, and procedures). \nMinimum Requirements: \nBachelor’s degree preferred. \n6+ months of experience in educational settings preferred. \nWe will train you in: Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Attachment, Regulation and Competency Model (ARC); Trauma Informed Practice.
