With over 25 years’ experience and a comprehensive range of specialist services to its name, Waystone helps our clients structure, operate and grow through our expertise, innovation and digitisation, backed by the operational scale to support global expansion.\nSummary:\nWe are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager - AML Compliance to support the delivery and management of AML/CFT projects for regulated financial services clients in Singapore.\nThe role will work closely with the Singapore Compliance team, and may coordinate with AML resources based overseas in other Waystone offices to deliver client engagements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from day-to-day planning through delivery, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with applicable Singapore regulatory requirements and client expectations.\nThe role will cover a broad range of AML activities, including client and investor onboarding, CDD/EDD, sanctions and PEP screening, AML risk assessments, periodic reviews, transaction monitoring and remediation projects.\nCandidates should have relevant experience within the Singapore financial services sector, ideally supporting asset managers, fund managers or other MAS-regulated financial institutions.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nKey Responsibilities\nManage day-to-day delivery of AML/CFT projects for regulated financial services clients.\nCoordinate project activities across the Singapore team and, where applicable, offshore AML resources.\nPlan and allocate work, monitor project progress and ensure agreed timelines and deliverables are met.\nReview work completed by junior or offshore team members to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.\nAct as a key day-to-day contact for clients on AML project delivery, including providing progress updates and resolving operational issues.\nIdentify issues, exceptions and higher-risk cases and escalate these appropriately to senior members of the Singapore Compliance team.\nConduct customer due diligence (\"CDD\"), enhanced due diligence (\"EDD\") and periodic reviews for corporate and individual clients.\nAssess and document AML/CFT risks associated with clients, investors, transactions and business relationships.\nReview customer and investor onboarding documentation and assess completeness against relevant AML/KYC requirements.\nReview source of wealth (\"SOW\") and source of funds (\"SOF\") information and supporting documentation.\nPerform sanctions, adverse media and politically exposed person (\"PEP\") screening.\nInvestigate and escalate unusual or suspicious activities and assist with suspicious transaction reporting where required.\nSupport AML remediation and back-book review exercises, including large-scale KYC refresh and periodic review projects.\nAssist with escalation and documentation of suspicious activity and potential suspicious transaction reporting matters where required.\nMaintain clear, accurate and appropriately documented AML/KYC records and audit trails.\nAssist in the development and enhancement of AML/CFT policies, procedures and controls.\nMonitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.\nProvide AML training and guidance to relevant stakeholders.\nSupport internal audits, compliance reviews and regulatory inspections.\nREQUIREMENTS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
