This is more than just a job - it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.\nAbout the role:\nTo provide flexible, person-centred floating support to individuals with a history of drug and/or alcohol use, helping them to sustain their tenancies, prevent homelessness, and improve overall wellbeing.\nHousing Stability Workers will provide intensive tenancy sustainment support for individuals moving on from recovery housing, residential rehabilitation providers, prison, hospital and other settings. They will reduce evictions and tenancy breakdown through proactive, person-centred support.\nKey duties will include:\nSupport individuals to maintain safe and stable accommodation\nAssist with understanding tenancy agreements, rights, and responsibilities\nWork with landlords, housing providers, and local authorities to prevent eviction\nSupport with rent payments, arrears management, and accessing benefits\nWork alongside drug and alcohol treatment services to support recovery goals\nEncourage engagement with treatment, healthcare, and support services\nSupport relapse prevention and crisis planning\nComplete holistic assessments and risk assessments\nDevelop and review support plans focused on housing stability\nDeliver tailored interventions based on individual needs\nPromote independence and progression\nIdentify and respond to safeguarding concerns\nManage risks relating to substance use, mental health, and tenancy breakdown\nFollow organisational safeguarding policies and procedures\nWork in partnership with services such as housing, probation, health, and social care\nAdvocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to services\nMaintain accurate, timely case records\nMonitor outcomes related to tenancy sustainment and wellbeing\nContribute to reporting requirements linked to Housing Support Grant\nWork flexibly, including community visits and lone working\nAbout you:\nRelevant qualification in health and social care, housing, substance misuse, counselling or related field (NVQ Level 3 or above or equivalent)\nTrained in safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, motivational interviewing or related approaches\nExperience of supporting people to sustain accommodation or prevent homelessness\nExperience and knowledge of harm reduction approaches in relation to drug and alcohol use\nExperience of managing complex needs (e.g. mental health, offending, trauma)\nExperience of using case management systems and recording outcomes\nExperience in completing assessment and recovery planning and risk management plans\nUnderstanding of and ability to implement interventions, including brief interventions MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP\nAbility to build trusting relationships and engage people\nAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing\nAbility to work in a person centred, strengths-based and trauma informed way\nAbility to work independently and manage a caseload\nAbility to develop support plans and identify practical actions to sustain accommodation\nAbility to undertake regular travel to a range of community locations, including home visits and partner agencies\nDriving licence and access to a vehicle is essential\nTo view the full job and person specification, please click here.\nWhat We Offer\nWe value the people who make a difference every day.
