This is more than just a job - it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.\nAbout the Service\nWe’re excited to offer the opportunity for a Recovery Navigator to join our\nBarnsley Recovery Steps Community Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.\nBarnsley Recovery Steps supports people affected by drug and alcohol use, providing person-centred treatment and recovery support that helps individuals improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life.\nAs a Recovery Navigator, you’ll work directly with individuals throughout their recovery journey, from initial engagement through structured treatment and beyond. You’ll manage your own caseload, develop individual recovery and treatment plans and provide interventions tailored to each person’s needs.\nWorking as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team, you’ll help people recognise their strengths, reduce substance-related harm and achieve meaningful and sustainable recovery outcomes.\nWhat You’ll Do\nManage a caseload, developing and reviewing person-centred recovery and treatment plans.\nSupport individuals to engage with and progress through structured drug and alcohol treatment.\nDeliver one-to-one and group interventions tailored to individual needs.\nProvide harm reduction advice and substance misuse-specific support.\nWork collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes.\nUse a strengths-based approach to help individuals identify their goals, build resilience and achieve sustainable recovery.\nEncourage people using the service to become actively involved in their treatment, recovery and wider service activities.\nTo Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need\nExperience supporting vulnerable people affected by substance misuse.\nAn NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this in post.\nExperience delivering one-to-one and/or group interventions.\nAn understanding of therapeutic approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, brief interventions, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries.\nGood IT and organisational skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office.\nA driving licence and access to a vehicle would be desirable.\nAt Waythrough, we believe in providing comprehensive training to ensure that our team members have the skills and knowledge necessary to fulfil their roles.
