Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that.\nHere’s what this particular role covers.\nAbout our Engineering Teams\nWayve’s engineering teams are building the AI, robotics, simulation, data, and systems foundations needed to deploy a generalisable AI Driver safely and at scale.\nAbout Triage\nThe Triage and Detective Engineering teams identify, understand, and help resolve issues across Wayve’s test and on-road fleets. This role scales that work by turning repeated manual investigation into reliable automation, reusable tooling, and measurable workflows.\nYour day-to-day\nObserve, document, and measure current Triage and Detective workflows to identify high-value automation opportunities.\n\nBuild automation pipelines, triage bots, behavioural classifiers, and workflow tooling.\n\nPartner with Detective Engineers to turn one-off scripts into robust, reusable tools.\n\nValidate automation accuracy, reliability, suggested classifications, and root-cause outputs.\n\nDocument each automation’s purpose, operation, expected outputs, and limitations.\n\nTrack triage quality and throughput to demonstrate impact and guide the roadmap.\n\nJoin regular triage and calibration sessions to stay close to the work being automated.\n\nWhat you’ll be working on\nBusiness-critical tooling used by Triage Specialists and Detective Engineers every week.\n\nAutomation that reduces manual analysis and accelerates issue identification across autonomous-vehicle fleets.\n\nProductised pipelines spanning Python, SQL, Bash, Linux, notebooks, cloud tooling, and issue-management systems.\n\nCross-functional problems at the intersection of safety, machine learning, software engineering, and operations.\n\nYou should apply if\nYou have 3+ years working with complex technical systems, ideally in robotics or autonomous vehicles.\n\nYou are strong in Python, SQL, and Bash or shell scripting and comfortable in remote Linux environments.\n\nYou have built or maintained data pipelines, notebooks, or cloud-triggered automation.\n\nYou can take an ambiguous manual process, decide what is worth automating, and own delivery end-to-end.\n\nYou communicate technical problems clearly and work effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.\n\nExperience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket or GitLab, Databricks or Jupyter is valuable; ML classifiers, web tooling, or Azure experience is a plus.\n\nNot ticking every box?
