Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that.\nHere’s what this particular role covers.\nAbout our Product Architecture and Safety Teams\nOur Product Architecture and Safety team brings Wayve’s AI Driver into real-world automotive products, connecting our core autonomous driving technology with the vehicle platforms of our OEM and Tier 1 partners.\nAs a Solution Architect, you’ll work at the boundary between Wayve’s core AI Driver architecture and customer vehicle systems. You’ll help define how our software integrates with sensors, vehicle signals, middleware and electronic control units (ECUs), accounting for timing, diagnostics, safety assumptions, data logging and validation.\nWorking across Product, Software Architecture, Hardware, Calibrations, System Safety, Validation and Field Application Engineering, you’ll help deliver safe, efficient and consistent integrations while preserving a scalable core product architecture.\nYour day-to-day\nDefine and manage the technical architecture for customer vehicle integrations, focusing on the interfaces between Wayve software and OEM or Tier 1 systems.\n\nPartner with Product Management to translate product requirements and customer program needs into clear, actionable technical specifications.\n\nTurn ambiguous customer discussions into explicit ownership boundaries, interface contracts, assumptions, dependencies and open technical decisions.\n\nWork with Software Architects to assess feasibility and align customer integration needs with Wayve’s core architecture.\n\nCoordinate with Validation Engineers to define integration test requirements and ensure requirements are verifiable.\n\nRepresent Wayve in OEM and Tier 1 technical discussions, keeping internal teams and external partners aligned on architecture, integration plans and technical risks.\n\nWhat you’ll be working on\nSoftware-vehicle interfaces: Define how Wayve’s AI Driver connects with vehicle platforms, including sensors, signals, middleware, ECU constraints, real-time execution, diagnostics and data logging.\n\nIntegration boundaries and ownership: Establish what is Wayve-owned, partner-owned, jointly defined or out of scope, making responsibilities and dependencies clear across each customer program.\n\nScalable customer integrations: Address customer-specific needs without unnecessarily fragmenting Wayve’s core product architecture.\n\nTechnical specifications and documentation: Develop interface specifications, integration guides, architecture diagrams, ownership boundary definitions and decision records.\n\nValidation-ready architecture: Translate integration needs and safety assumptions into clear requirements that can be tested and verified.\n\nProgram planning and risk management: Identify integration complexity, technical gaps, dependencies, risks and required partner deliverables to support realistic planning and informed decisions.\n\nYou should apply if\nYou have systems and software architecture experience in ADAS, autonomous driving, embedded software or vehicle systems, particularly at the software-vehicle interface.\n\nYou understand vehicle electronics and embedded systems, including ECU integration, real-time execution, timing, diagnostics and automotive technologies such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet, SOME/IP or AUTOSAR.\n\nYou’ve worked with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers, translating customer needs into clear technical specifications, interface contracts, ownership boundaries and validation-ready requirements.\n\nYou collaborate effectively across product, software, hardware, safety, validation and customer-facing teams, aligning technical decisions from individual components through to complete vehicle systems.\n\nYou’re comfortable owning ambiguous technical problems independently, identifying risks and dependencies, and communicating architectural decisions clearly through documentation, diagrams and technical discussions.\n\nIt would also be great if you bring:\nA bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.\n\nExperience working within an automotive Tier 1 supplier or delivering automotive OEM integration projects.\n\nKnowledge of generative AI, large language models and transformer architectures.\n\nFamiliarity with end-to-end approaches to autonomous driving.\n\nHands-on experience with embedded Linux, QNX, Adaptive AUTOSAR, DDS, SOME/IP or custom automotive middleware.\n\nExperience integrating sensors such as cameras, radar, IMU and GNSS, including calibration, timestamping and synchronisation.\n\nNot ticking every box? That’s totally okay! If you’re passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.\nMore about Wayve:\nWayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving. We are pioneering an end to end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real world experience, developing the ability to adapt, generalise and improve at scale. Instead of relying on hand coded rules or pre mapped environments, our AI Driver learns to drive by understanding the world around it. The result is technology that navigates complex urban environments with intelligence, precision and natural flow, unlocking meaningful advances in both safety and efficiency. We believe autonomy represents a once in a generation transformation in how people and goods move, comparable to the shift from horses to cars, and from human driven vehicles to intelligent machines.\nOur ambition is to make autonomy universal. Wayve’s mapless and hardware agnostic AI platform integrates with global OEM partners, enabling continuous software evolution and unlocking advanced levels of automation from L2 plus through to L4 as our core AI model scales. In a race increasingly defined by intelligence and real world learning, Wayve is taking a distinct approach, building a generalisable driving intelligence that can power any vehicle, anywhere. By combining embodied AI with scalable deployment, we are creating technology that can be shaped to each OEM brand and driver experience, accelerating the transition to a safer, more intelligent future of mobility.\nHow we work - Locations & Flexible Working:\nThis is a full-time role based in London, with a hybrid working model.\nOur main hubs are in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver and Leonberg. We operate a hybrid working model that combines in-person collaboration in our dedicated office spaces with focused time working remotely. This gives our teams the connection and energy of working together, alongside the flexibility to do their best work in a way that fits their lives.\nThe Interview Process:\nOur process is clear and respectful of your time:\nInitial call / recruiter screen 30 min\n\nHiring Manager Interview 1 hour\n\nDeep-dive technical interviews 4 hours\n\nFinal interview: mission & values alignment 30 min\n\nWe’ll always explain the format and work around your availability.\nWhat’s in it for you (Location dependant):\nSalaries benchmarked against the market annually\nMeaningful equity, sharing in the ownership and long term success of Wayve\nRelocation support and visa sponsorship where applicable\nHybrid working, core hours and the chance to work hands on in vehicle workshops and labs\nLearning and development budgets with support for training, conferences and growth\nComprehensive benefits including health insurance, dental, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, retirement or pension where applicable, access to therapists, wellbeing partnerships, team socials and more\nA quick, honest note before you apply.\nWayve is not a mature, fully-structured place with the playbook already written. Much of how we work is still being written, and if you join, you’ll help write it. That suits people who want real ownership more than people who need a settled structure from day one.\nIf that sounds like the kind of problem you want to spend your time on, we’d really like to hear from you.\nAt Wayve we're committed to creating a diverse, fair and respectful culture that is inclusive of everyone based on their unique skills and perspectives, and regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis as protected by applicable law.\nFor more information visit Careers at Wayve.
