You will be working with WCI, Inc. partners and the engineering and product teams to ensure quality development and quality of our application.\nWhat will you do?\nSpecific duties and responsibilities include creating, maintaining and executing automation test plans, writing test code against software platforms, analyzing and communicating test results, defect tracking and participation in day-to-day Quality Assurance (QA) activities, and contribute to the company’s performance and scalability testing efforts.\nEvaluate software application deployments for errors and stability.\nArchitect, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools using programming languages such as JavaScript.\nDesign, write, execute, and debug automated scripts for UI, API, and back-end database testing and identify system flaws.\nPerform manual and automated testing strategies.\nIntegrate the automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines.\nWrite code to improve the overall testability of the software.\nCollaborate with software developers to focus on test-driven development.\nDefine, measure, and analyze quality metrics. Analyze trends to identify patterns or changes that could impact product delivery. Communicate test results and defect tracking.\nConduct root cause analysis when issues or defects are identified.\nDesign and execute performance, load and security tests to simulate real-world traffic to prevent performance issues with the application.\nConfigure and manage test environments, maintain test data, and troubleshoot test failures to differentiate between real software bugs and not valid test cases.\nMentor the team and individuals on best automation practices, design and implementation.\nConduct exploratory testing.\nTrack testing progress.\nFoster effective communication and collaboration with diverse cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define testing objectives, scope, and priorities.\nAssist WCI, Inc. IT Product Managers and jurisdiction leads in planning, executing, and monitoring testing.\nPerform other relevant tasks as assigned by the management team.\nWhat skills and knowledge should you bring?\nBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent job experience.\nStrong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming.\nProficiency with industry-standard test automation framework tools like Selenium and Playwright.\nExperience with pipelines (such as GitHub and Jenkins) and containerization (such as Docker).\nProven track record of standing up software testing automation in a project from the ground up and has owned the full automation lifecycle.\nProficiency with automated testing types (Unit, Functional, Load, Security, Integration, End-to-End).\nUnderstanding of web technologies, including web services, web application servers and RESTful APIs.\nPossess strong analytical and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.\nProactive self-starter who is comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment with product teams from diverse backgrounds in different geographic locations.\nTravel\nThe Software Development Engineer in Testmay need to travel for specific and well-defined business purposes.\nAbout This Position\nThis is a full-time salary position that may be in Sacramento, California (headquarters), Quebec City, Quebec (satellite office), or remotely from the United States or Canada.\nWCI, Inc. offers competitive salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and professional experience and is committed to equal employment opportunity.
