Read our Culture Manual and learn more about how we work.\nThe Role\nWe're looking for a Marketing Developer to join our Growth & Lifecycle Marketing team. This is a 18-month fixed term contract position. This is a highly technical role that sits at the intersection of marketing, development, and data. You'll be the technical anchor for our multi-channel lifecycle marketing programs, building sophisticated automation systems, creating interactive email, in-app and web experiences, and ensuring our marketing technology stack runs smoothly.\nAs our Marketing Developer, you'll work closely with marketers, designers, and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions. You'll be the subject matter expert on our marketing automation platform (Braze) and push the boundaries of what's possible in lifecycle marketing.\nWhat You'll Do\nDevelopment & Design\nCreate and maintain our email templates and email design system\n\nBuild interactive email experiences, including dropdowns, carousels, and AMP for email\n\nCode advanced techniques like background images, device targeting, and dark mode support\n\nProvide development guidance and support to the Lifecycle Marketing team for email and in-app message builds\n\nStay current on industry changes and email client support updates\n\nAct as SME on email and in-app message feasibility, scope creative designs, and explain channel nuances\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex email, in-app and web template issues\n\nMarketing Automation & Platform Operations\nDesign and build complex, multi-channel automation journeys in Braze\n\nManage platform administration, including roles, users, and account settings\n\nCreate and maintain custom HTML templates for in-app messaging\n\nWrite Liquid for complex personalization and dynamic content\n\nDevelop custom scripts (webhooks, advanced Liquid logic) to extend platform capabilities\n\nIntegrate external tools and platforms using APIs beyond native supported integrations\n\nTest and support platform-side requirements for integrations (API requirements, custom attributes)\n\nProvide solution design and support for non-Lifecycle teams utilizing our marketing tools\n\nData & Personalization\nImplement advanced personalization logic, including for loops, connected content, and catalogs\n\nWrite SQL queries for complex use cases and data extraction\n\nCreate advanced segmentation strategies\n\nBuild custom reports and data visualizations\n\nDesign technical solutions based on our relational database structures\n\nAI & Workflow Automation\nEvaluate, implement, and optimize AI tools that improve marketing efficiency and campaign performance, including personalization, audience segmentation, predictive analytics, A/B testing, and forecasting\n\nBuild automated workflows and integrations between AI tools and our marketing tech stack to cut manual work and automate data flows and reporting\n\nCreate scoping tools, templates, and self-service solutions that let marketers estimate timelines and resources and run campaigns independently\n\nTrain the team on new automation tools and document best practices for AI-powered workflows\n\nOperations\nManage the Lifecycle Marketing JIRA board and assign requests from cross-team partners\n\nTranslate business needs into technical solutions\n\nMaintain deep links code snippets for use in templates\n\nServe as the technical SME for email and lifecycle marketing platforms\n\nWhat You Bring\nRequired Skills\n3-5 years of email development experience: coding and maintaining email templates or design systems\n\nExpert-level email development: Proficient in HTML/CSS for email with deep knowledge of responsive design, email client quirks, and advanced techniques\n\nInteractive email techniques: Experience building dropdowns, carousels, AMP for email, and other interactive elements\n\nMarketing automation expertise: Proven experience building complex, multi-channel automation flows in platforms like Braze, Iterable or Salesforce Marketing Cloud\n\nExperience with Taxi for Email or other EDS platform\n\nAdvanced scripting: Strong skills in Liquid, webhooks, and other marketing automation scripting languages\n\nSQL proficiency: Ability to write complex SQL queries for segmentation and reporting\n\nAPI integration: Experience integrating external platforms using APIs beyond standard supported integrations\n\nProblem-solving: Exceptional troubleshooting skills for niche email and platform issues\n\nTechnical architecture: Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions\n\nAutomation mindset: Strong
