The Ramp supervisor will take accountability for safety, operation standards, policy implementation, client relations, and financial performance for the ramp operations.\nJob Responsibilities\nEstablishing shift assignments for both fulltime and part-time employees;\nMonitoring and responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment\nReporting discrepancies that may exist both functional and mechanical on the ground support equipment;\nCoordinating between each assigned carrier to ensure that service for cargo and baggage meets the needs of the carrier to ensure on-time schedules are met\nResponsible for equipment and ensuring its safe and efficient operating status;\nConferring with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities with other departments;\nDetermining manpower requirements; ensuring disciplinary procedures are conducted in a fair, timely, and consistent manner;\nAbility to comply with attendance/tardiness standards.\nAble to perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints\nEnsures necessary ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights\nRead and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous materials identification labels, aircraft loading manifest, and baggage routing tags\nFollows and complies with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations\nEnsure crews are being briefed before flights on positions to take and how flight will work\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements:\nMust possess computer experience (6+ months) and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel\nAbility to navigate electronic devices (computers, fax machines, printers, timeclock, etc).\nA proven track record in supervising a business unit.\nExperience in operational planning and resource allocation.\nWorking knowledge of GSE maintenance issues.\nExperience and understanding of commercial issues in aviation.\nMust have a High School diploma, GED\nMust be at least 18 years of age\nCapable of processing information in a timely manner\nMust have and maintain a Valid Driver's License\nAble to proficiently speak, read, and write in English\nBasic computer literacy\nPrevious ramp or airline experience\nMust successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment\nMust clear an FBI fingerprint background check\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be physically fit to perform duties of the job including but not limited to standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time\nCapable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces and repetitively\nMust be physically fit to perform the duties of the job\nWilling to work outside in all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noises\nSpecific Working Hours\nMust be able and flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holiday-specific shifts to be determined\nMust be able to work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations\nGAT Airline Ground Support, as an equal opportunity employer, makes hiring decisions based on business needs and the best-qualified candidates available and does not discriminate in its employment decisions on the basis of any protected category.
