It's a strong opportunity for a controls engineer who wants both hands-on troubleshooting and meaningful ownership of plant automation improvements.\nWhat You'll Do as the Controls Engineer:\nDesign, program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC-based industrial control systems\nSupport automation across complex manufacturing equipment and production processes\nIntegrate sensors, actuators, controls, and other field devices into automated systems\nDiagnose controls and automation problems that impact equipment uptime, reliability, quality, or production\nTest, validate, and commission new or modified control systems\nSupport installation and startup of new manufacturing equipment and technology\nMaintain electrical schematics, PLC logic, control documentation, and system configurations\nInterpret equipment specifications and translate them into practical operating and controls requirements\nPartner with Process Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and equipment vendors to solve technical issues\nEvaluate new controls and automation technologies that can improve manufacturing capability\nSupport new product and process introductions from an automation and manufacturability perspective\nDrive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, system performance, and manufacturing efficiency\nEnsure controls and electrical work meets applicable safety standards, codes, and plant requirements\nManage multiple automation and controls projects simultaneously\nMust-Haves as the Controls Engineer:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related technical field\n3-5+ years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment\nHands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience\nExperience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable industrial PLC platforms\nAbility to diagnose controls problems directly at production equipment\nExperience integrating industrial sensors, actuators, and control devices\nWorking knowledge of industrial communication protocols\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs\nExperience testing, validating, and commissioning control systems\nStrong troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving skills\nAbility to manage several projects and competing plant priorities simultaneously\nStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, vendors, and technicians\nWorking knowledge of industrial safety and compliance requirements\nNice-to-Haves as the Controls Engineer:\nAdvanced Allen-Bradley controls experience\nSiemens experience\nRobotics programming or integration experience\nCNC or machining automation experience\nExperience with forging, metal forming, heat treatment, coating, or similar manufacturing equipment\nAutomotive or commercial vehicle manufacturing experience\nLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience\nPrevious experience in a union manufacturing environment\nWe Offer:\nBase salary of $100,000-$115,000 annually, depending on experience\nOpportunity to own automation and controls work across a sophisticated manufacturing operation\nHands-on involvement in both existing equipment improvement and new technology implementation\nSignificant exposure to manufacturing equipment, robotics, PLCs, machining, and automation\nMedical coverage with PPO and HSA-compatible plan options\nDental and vision coverage\nCompany HSA contributions and additional matching opportunity for eligible plan participants\n401(k) with company matching opportunity\nCompany-paid basic life and AD&D insurance\nCompany-paid disability benefits for eligible employees\nEmployee Assistance Program and financial wellness resources\nParticipation in the company's employee ownership program at no personal cost\nOpportunity to join an operation investing in automation, manufacturing technology, and future production capability\nTrueline is an unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
