As a long-established, employee-owned mechanical contractor, we are seeking an experienced Master Electrician to lead electrical work supporting their mechanical, HVAC, and process operations from their southern MA hub. You'll handle the electrical side of the work, from power and control wiring for mechanical equipment to troubleshooting and code compliance, for $50-$65 per hour plus an annual bonus, profit sharing, and employee stock ownership.

As an employee-owned company, they share their success through an ESOP, annual profit sharing that has paid out every year for more than a decade, and a year-end bonus. With decades in business and a field team that's growing fast, this is a long-term home for a licensed electrical leader who takes pride in quality work.

What You'll Do as the Master Electrician:

  • Install, wire, and terminate power and control circuits for HVAC, plumbing, and process equipment, including motors, pumps, chillers, boilers, and VFDs
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control issues on commercial and industrial mechanical systems
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and control wiring diagrams
  • Make sure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code and the Massachusetts Electrical Code
  • Plan and lay out electrical work, and coordinate materials and scheduling with project managers and field teams
  • Coordinate closely with pipefitters, HVAC technicians, controls contractors, and other trades
  • Train and mentor journeyman and apprentice electricians as the team grows
  • Set the tone for electrical safety, including lockout/tagout and safe work practices
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and keep accurate documentation of completed work

Must-Haves as the Master Electrician:

  • Active Massachusetts Master Electrician license
  • Proven commercial or industrial electrical experience, including power and control wiring for mechanical equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and the Massachusetts Electrical Code
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on motors, motor controls, VFDs, and related equipment
  • Experience leading or mentoring other electricians
  • Excellent communication skills, a team-first attitude, and a strong customer-service focus
  • OSHA 10 certification and a valid Class D driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice-to-Haves as the Master Electrician:

  • New Hampshire or Rhode Island electrical licensing
  • Experience working for or alongside a mechanical or HVAC contractor
  • HVAC controls or building automation experience
  • Industrial or process controls experience, including PLCs and instrumentation
  • Hazardous location wiring experience for petroleum or fuel systems
  • NFPA 70E training and OSHA 30 certification

Offers:

  • Hourly pay of $50-$65, depending on experience
  • Employee stock ownership (ESOP) with a five-year vesting schedule
  • Annual profit sharing, paid out every year for more than a decade
  • Discretionary year-end bonus based on company profits, typically paid in February or March
  • Overtime opportunities, plus prevailing wage work on public sector projects
  • Medical coverage through Harvard Pilgrim with 60% of premiums paid by the company, plus dental and vision
  • Short-term disability and company-paid life insurance, with optional additional life and other voluntary coverage
  • A key licensed leadership role at a growing mechanical contractor
  • A diverse mix of commercial, industrial, and process work
