This is an opportunity for an experienced partnership tax professional to take ownership of a sophisticated tax function supporting a diverse portfolio of real estate development, multifamily, mixed-use, and residential investments.\nReporting to senior financial leadership, you'll serve as the internal tax expert and primary liaison between the company's accounting team and outside tax advisors. The right person brings strong partnership tax experience, understands complex multi-entity structures, and can move comfortably between compliance, planning, research, and strategic tax initiatives.\nWhat You'll Do as the Tax Manager:\nManage federal, state, and other required tax compliance across a complex real estate organization\nOversee third-party tax preparers and review outsourced tax work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance\nCoordinate partnership tax filings and supporting calculations, with particular emphasis on Form 1065 returns\nEvaluate the tax implications of business, investment, and real estate activities and identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency\nResearch evolving federal and state tax requirements and advise leadership on potential business impacts\nServe as the primary internal point of contact for outside tax advisors, preparers, auditors, and other third-party professionals\nPartner closely with accounting and finance teams to gather information, resolve tax matters, and maintain accurate reporting\nReview tax accounting policies, procedures, and controls to help ensure reliable financial information and appropriate application of accounting principles\nCoordinate with accounting on the timely payment and administration of real estate taxes\nSupport tax planning initiatives, special projects, and ad hoc financial analysis\nMaintain organized documentation and appropriately safeguard confidential financial and tax information\nHelp leadership anticipate tax considerations as the company's portfolio and operations continue to evolve\nMust-Haves as the Tax Manager:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting\n4-6+ years of direct tax experience within public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination of the two\nHands-on partnership tax experience, including preparation and/or substantive review of Form 1065 returns\nStrong knowledge of federal and multi-state income tax compliance\nUnderstanding of partnership ownership structures and the tax considerations associated with them\nStrong foundation in tax accounting, accrual-basis accounting, and financial reporting\nExperience coordinating multiple tax filings, deadlines, outside providers, and internal stakeholders\nStrong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail\nAdvanced organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines\nStrong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency\nAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and appropriately handle highly confidential information\nNice-to-Haves as the Tax Manager:\nCPA license\nPublic accounting experience\nReal estate tax experience\n2-4+ years supporting real estate development, investment, private equity real estate, multifamily, homebuilding, or a related environment\nExperience managing outsourced tax preparation relationships\nExposure to complex multi-entity or partnership structures\nExperience advising internal accounting or finance teams on tax implications and compliance requirements\nWe Offer:\nBase salary around $150,000, depending on experience\nComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance\nHSA and dependent FSA options\n401(k) with a 5% employer match\nGroup life, AD&D, and long-term disability coverage\nEmployee assistance program\nOpportunity to become the internal tax authority for a sophisticated national real estate platform\nDirect exposure to senior financial leadership and outside tax advisors\nBroad responsibilities spanning compliance, planning, reporting, research, and strategic tax projects\nOpportunity to work within a vertically integrated organization involved in real estate development, construction, design, property management, multifamily, mixed-use, and residential communities\nLong-term opportunity with an established company continuing to expand its national portfolio\nTrueline is an unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
