As Management Accountant, you'll be the operational engine of our finance function, the person who keeps the numbers accurate, the processes tight, and the team informed. You'll work closely with our Head of Finance to ensure month-end runs like clockwork, our P&L and balance sheet are always in good shape, and our people know exactly who to turn to when they have a finance question.\nYou'll manage our outsourced accounting team based in Sri Lanka, who handle our month-end reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes. Your job is to own the quality of their output, review their work, and ensure everything lands accurately in our books.\nThis is a hands-on role with real ownership. You won't just be executing, you'll be building better ways of doing things and helping shape how finance operates at Wiser as we grow.\nWhat will you spend your time doing?\nMonth-End & Financial Reporting\nManage and review the work of our outsourced Sri Lanka team, ensuring month-end reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes are completed accurately and on time\nOwn the month-end close process end-to-end, including the preparation and posting of accrual and deferral journals\nEnsure the P&L and balance sheet are accurate, reconciled and review-ready each month\nIdentify and resolve any discrepancies or anomalies in the accounts, escalating material issues to the Head of Finance\nAccounts Payable & Receivable\nManage the AP and AR cycle, ensuring invoices are processed, approved and paid on time\nMaintain clean supplier and client ledgers and resolve queries promptly\nSupport the Head of Finance with cash flow visibility through accurate AR and AP reporting\nBusiness Partnering & Internal Support\n\n Be the first point of contact for finance queries from employees across Wiser - approachable, responsive, and solutions-focused\nSupport department heads with financial queries relating to their budgets, project costs or invoicing\nWork closely with project delivery teams to ensure billing and revenue recognition is aligned with contractual terms\nSystems & Process\nWork within QuickBooks and our wider finance tech stack (including Airtable) to maintain accurate records and support automation initiatives\nContribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes, helping reduce manual effort and increase accuracy\nSupport the Head of Finance in rolling out new financial policies, trackers and dashboards as the function evolves\nWhat are we looking for? \nPart-qualified or are in the advanced phase of the exams (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)\n3-5 years of experience in a finance role, ideally within a creative, media, professional services, or agency environment\nSolid experience managing month-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and P&L review\nComfortable managing and reviewing the work of outsourced or remote finance teams\nHands-on experience with AP/AR processes and maintaining ledger accuracy\nSkills & Mindset\nStrong attention to detail - you notice things others miss and you take pride in clean numbers\nClear communicator who can explain financial concepts to non-finance people without making them feel like they're back in school\nComfortable working independently and managing your own workload across multiple priorities\nProactive and process-minded - you don't just spot a problem, you fix it and document it so it doesn't happen again\nFamiliarity with QuickBooks (or willingness to get up to speed quickly)\nComfortable working across time zones and collaborating with remote teams\nNice to Have\nExperience in a creative or employer branding agency\nExposure to R&D tax credit processes, VAT returns & year-end process\nExperience with project-based accounting or revenue recognition\nFamiliarity with Airtable or similar workflow tools\nWhat's in it for you?\nA Happiness team whose role is to make Wiser the best place to work possible.
