We are looking for someone who stays curious, cares deeply, and is energized by the opportunity to shape both our product and our design culture as we scale.\nLocation: Remote, U.S.\n\nReports to: Director of Product Design\n\nWhat You Will Own\nStrategic & execution partnership: Operate as an equal strategic partner with Product and Engineering in your area to identify, shape, and prioritize product strategy and roadmaps.\n\nExperience vision: Lead experience vision and advocacy for your product areas with your team, bringing a cohesive point of view that shapes product direction and drives design-led transformation.\n\nCross-boundary opportunities: Proactively identify strategic UX opportunities that span your areas and across the product, looking beyond your scope to notice opportunities for holistic solutions across Weave’s platform.\n\nTeam enablement: Position designers to operate upstream by coaching them to champion user needs, direct with vision, and shape priorities-not just react to requirements.\n\nDesign quality and direction: Direct design reviews focusing on both craft quality and strategic direction, ensuring the team creates high-quality output aligned with experience vision and quality standards.\n\nPeople development: Inspire, motivate, and support designers across experience levels to do the best work of their careers, helping them grow their craft, judgment, and impact across Weave. Ensure alignment of employee motivations and performance with organizational outcomes through performance management.\n\nHiring and retention: Hire world-class designers and create conditions for team success, building a team capable of strategic partnership.\n\nStrategic research: Identify strategic user research initiatives that span multiple groups and organize research efforts that validate opportunities and re-examine assumptions.\n\nDomain expertise: Understand technology and features of areas you manage and have working knowledge of the end-to-end Weave platform, maintaining credibility to drive strategic discussions.\n\nWhat You Will Need to Accomplish the Job\nThe minimum qualifications for the role - education, experience, certifications, skills.\n2+ years of formal design management experience OR 4+ years of equivalent team leadership as a Lead Individual Contributor (e.g., leading cross-functional initiatives, guiding design strategy, mentoring peers and developing design talent) in a complex product environment.\n\n5+ years of hands-on product design experience at a product-led software company.\n\nCross-Functional Partnership: Demonstrated track record of co-leading product strategy alongside Engineering, Product Management, and Data teams.\n\nSystems & Strategy: Mastery in driving adaptable UX strategies that meet users where they are, translating complex data workflows and user insights into flexible, scalable, and intuitive design systems.\n\nRemote Leadership: A clear, empathetic philosophy on guiding and inspiring distributed design teams across time zones.\n\nAdaptability: Comfort navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and emerging technologies (like AI/LLM tools) to improve product outcomes.\n\nWhat Will Make Us Love You\nCustomer Empathy: You care deeply about the day-to-day reality of healthcare practices and design around their true workflows, not just feature requests.\n\nClarity in Ambiguity: You naturally turn messy problems into clear paths forward without waiting for permission.\n\nSystemic Vision: You look across product surfaces to find patterns, simplify complexity, and build solutions that scale smoothly.\n\nBar Raiser: You mentor generously, give constructive feedback, and inspire the broader team to raise their standards.\n\nRelationship Builder: You build high-trust partnerships with Product and Engineering, challenging assumptions constructively while bringing everyone along.\n\nJoin Us!\nAt Weave, we look for leaders with passion, grit, and empathy.
