Rapidly turning cutting-edge research and conceptual ideas into functional prototypes. This role is ideal for a highly technical and creative engineer who thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments. You’ll work closely with research scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders to bring theoretical advancements in AI to life through proof-of-concept builds and feasibility studies. Your work will directly influence future product directions and technical strategies across our platform.\nKey Responsibilities:\nRapidly design, build, and test software and AI prototypes for emerging technologies and product ideas.\n\nTranslate theoretical AI and ML research into practical, testable implementations.\n\nCreate proof-of-concept demos to validate feasibility and communicate value to internal stakeholders.\n\nConduct feasibility studies, benchmarking, and performance evaluations of new approaches.\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally with research, engineering, and product teams to align prototypes with strategic goals.\n\nIterate and refine prototypes based on feedback, testing, and evolving technical requirements.\n\nDocument design processes, experimental results, and technical insights for internal knowledge sharing.\n\nStay current on emerging technologies and methodologies in AI, software engineering, and distributed systems.\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field (Master’s or PhD preferred).\n\n5+ years of experience in prototype development, ideally in an R&D or high-growth tech environment.\n\nStrong foundation in engineering principles, machine learning, and applied mathematics.\n\nProficiency in programming languages such as Python and C/C++.\n\nExperience working with AI technologies such as computer vision models, LLMs, or language processing.\n\nDemonstrated ability to build and iterate on technical prototypes quickly and independently.\n\nClear communication skills and ability to present technical ideas to varied audiences.\n\nProven success working in cross-functional teams and navigating technical ambiguity.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior work in startup or fast-paced R&D environments.\n\nExperience with distributed AI systems or edge computing.\n\nEntrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation.\n\nTechnical publications or patents related to AI or software development.\n\nWe at webAI are committed to living out the core values we have put in place as the foundation on which we operate as a team.
