Your work will span systems architecture, backend development, automated delivery, documentation, and developer experience.\nThis role is suited to an engineer who can move between low-level technical concerns and clear, practical interfaces for other developers. You will own complex work from design through release while helping shape the boundaries and evolution of the webAI platform.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and build reliable platform capabilities shared across webAI products.\n\nDevelop backend and systems software with a focus on performance, security, maintainability, and operational reliability.\n\nCreate clear, stable APIs and SDKs for internal and external developers.\n\nOwn features from architecture and implementation through testing, packaging, release, and production support.\n\nBuild and improve CI/CD pipelines for multi-platform builds, automated testing, artifact publishing, and releases.\n\nEstablish sound practices for API evolution, versioning, compatibility, and migration.\n\nWrite documentation, examples, and reference implementations alongside the APIs they explain.\n\nDiagnose performance, concurrency, reliability, and integration problems across complex systems.\n\nCollaborate with product and engineering teams to turn product needs into reusable platform capabilities.\n\nImprove developer tooling and workflows as the platform and SDK ecosystem grow.\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\n5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.\n\nStrong experience designing and maintaining APIs, SDKs, client libraries, or developer-facing platform interfaces.\n\nStrong systems-engineering skills, including experience with concurrency, process boundaries, resource management, failure modes, and performance.\n\nExperience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release automation.\n\nExperience packaging, versioning, and distributing production software.\n\nAbility to write maintainable code, effective tests, clear technical documentation, and useful examples.\n\nExperience diagnosing complex integration, reliability, and performance problems.\n\nProven ability to take complex or ambiguous requirements through design, implementation, and release.\n\nStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nPreferred Skills & Qualifications\nProfessional experience with Rust.\n\nExperience building distributed, peer-to-peer, offline-capable, or edge systems.\n\nExperience designing or integrating foreign function interfaces (FFI) and language bindings.\n\nExperience working across programming-language and process boundaries.\n\nFamiliarity with semantic versioning, compatibility policies, and API migration strategies.\n\nExperience building cross-platform software for desktop, mobile, server, or embedded environments.\n\nExperience creating developer tools, code generators, build tooling, or release infrastructure.\n\nExperience with security-sensitive or privacy-preserving systems.\n\nWe at webAI are committed to living out the core values we have put in place as the foundation on which we operate as a team.
