This role focuses on delivering live and recorded audio to hundreds of networked endpoints, integrating with SIP-based public address and phone systems, and ensuring reliable audio transmission.\nThis position is well suited for a senior developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, takes ownership of features from design through production, and can work across backend, frontend, and real-time communication technologies.\nWhat You'll Do:\nDesign, develop, and maintain real-time audio streaming capabilities for live and recorded announcements across hundreds of networked endpoints.\n\nBuild and optimize WebRTC-based audio solutions, including browser-side and server-side communication.\n\nDevelop and maintain integrations with SIP/VoIP systems, PBX platforms, and commercial public address solutions.\n\nImplement and troubleshoot audio transport protocols, codecs, jitter buffering, packet-loss handling, and secure real-time communication.\n\nDesign scalable one-to-many audio distribution solutions, focusing on synchronized playback, latency, and reliability.\n\nDevelop and maintain backend services using Node.js, GraphQL, MySQL, Redis, and message-driven communication technologies.\n\nContribute to frontend development using Vue 3 or React, supporting operator-facing interfaces and audio management workflows.\n\nCollaborate with embedded engineers to investigate audio issues, review C/C++ firmware, and troubleshoot communication between software and hardware.\n\nDeploy, monitor, and troubleshoot containerized services using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.\n\nWrite automated unit and end-to-end tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain reliable CI workflows using GitHub Actions.\n\nUse AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity while carefully reviewing and validating generated code.\n\nCollaborate with Engineering and product stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and deliver reliable production solutions.\n\nWhat You Bring:\n7+ years of professional software development experience, including experience delivering and supporting at least one production software product.\n\nStrong experience developing real-time audio, VoIP, paging, intercom, conferencing, or audio broadcasting solutions.\n\nHands-on production experience with WebRTC, including browser-side and server-side implementations using technologies such as Janus, mediasoup, LiveKit, or Pion.\n\nStrong knowledge of SIP and VoIP technologies, including PBX integrations, SIP trunks, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, or similar platforms.\n\nExperience with audio codecs and transport protocols, including Opus, G.711, RTP/RTCP, SRTP, SIP over TLS, and STUN/TURN/ICE.\n\nUnderstanding of audio streaming challenges, including jitter buffers, packet loss, latency measurement, synchronized playback, and one-to-many audio distribution.\n\nStrong backend development experience with Node.js and GraphQL APIs; TypeScript is a plus.\n\nWorking proficiency with Vue 3 or React.\n\nExperience with MySQL, Redis, and message-driven or publish/subscribe systems such as MQTT.\n\nKnowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and troubleshooting services running in containerized environments.\n\nStrong Linux and networking fundamentals, including TCP/UDP, TLS, WebSockets, and packet capture analysis.\n\nAbility to read C/C++ firmware and collaborate with embedded engineers to investigate audio-related issues.\n\nExperience writing automated tests, working with GitHub Actions, and following disciplined Git and pull-request workflows.\n\nExperience using AI coding agents, such as Claude Code, as part of daily development work, with the ability to review and correct generated code.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and the ability to independently deliver features from design through production.\n\nProfessional proficiency in spoken and written English.\n\nWhat You'll Gain:\nA full-time, fully remote position with a growing international company.\n\nThe opportunity to work on a mission-critical communication platform with real-world applications.\n\nHands-on experience developing scalable real-time audio and networked communication solutions.\n\nOpportunities to collaborate with experienced engineers on complex software, networking, and embedded systems challenges.\n\nA collaborative remote working environment with an international engineering team.\n\nLocation: Remote LaTam\nWebCreek is an equal opportunity employer.
