About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to strengthen our Software Engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and developers, translating functional requirements into clear, actionable development tasks.

The Webellian team supports the daily operations and continuous modernization of finance modules within the main operational system of a global insurance company. The scope includes invoicing interfaces, payment modules, integrations with other financial systems, and related system functionality.

The role combines strong business analysis skills with a good technical understanding of software systems, APIs, databases, and integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and development tasks.
• Work closely with developers, Product Owners, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Analyze production issues, system behavior, logs, data, and identify potential root causes and improvements.
• Use SQL to investigate issues, validate data, and support analysis.
• Understand and analyze REST APIs, API requests/responses, integrations, and data flows.
• Support the design and implementation of new features and system improvements.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT, and other Agile activities.
• Create and maintain functional documentation in Confluence and manage requirements/tasks in Jira.
• Ensure solutions meet business requirements while considering existing system capabilities and technical constraints.

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a software engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Good practical knowledge of SQL.
• Understanding of REST APIs, integrations, JSON, and system/data flows.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including production issue investigation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• English B2+, C1 preferred.
• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn.

• Experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Experience with financial systems, invoicing, payments, or insurance.
• Experience with production support and root-cause analysis.
• Basic knowledge of microservices or cloud-based systems.
