In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, Product Owner, Data and BI Engineers to design comprehensive analytical solutions to provide concrete insights and help to build data driven organization.\nThe Webellian team supports the daily operations and continuous modernization of finance and operational modules within the main operational system of a global insurance company.\nThe role combines strong analytical skills, solution design capabilities and strong communication skills.\nKey responsibilities\nGather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for analytics, reporting, and data consumption use cases.\n\nDesign and deliver dashboards and reports (e.g. Power BI, Databricks AI/BI Dashboards) that are intuitive, performant, and aligned with business KPIs.\n\nDefine and document data models, metrics, and semantic layers to ensure consistent, trusted definitions across the organization.\n\nTranslate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, data contracts, and development tasks for data engineers and BI developers.\n\nNegotiate and recommend scalable, cost-effective solutions with stakeholders, engineers, and architects, weighing trade-offs between speed, governance, performance, and cost.\n\nDefine and promote best practices for data consumption: access patterns, self-service enablement, naming conventions, and reuse of curated datasets (e.g., Gold layer / Unity Catalog assets).\n\nUse SQL to explore data, validate pipelines, reconcile numbers, and support ad-hoc analysis.\n\nAnalyze data quality and pipeline issues, investigate anomalies, trace data lineage, and identify root causes and improvements.\n\nWork closely with data engineers, Product Owners, QA, data governance, and business stakeholders across regions.\n\nParticipate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT, and other Agile ceremonies.\n\nCreate and maintain functional and data documentation in Confluence; manage requirements and tasks in Jira.\n\nEnsure solutions meet business needs while respecting platform capabilities, security, and governance constraints.\n\nCompetencies\n4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or Business Analyst in a data-focused or software engineering environment.\n\nHands-on experience designing dashboards and data visualizations, with an understanding of UX and storytelling with data.\n\nSolid understanding of data warehousing and lakehouse concepts (e.g., medallion architecture, dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT).\n\nPractical knowledge of SQL, including complex queries, joins, window functions, and performance-aware query design.\n\nUnderstanding of data flows, integrations, REST APIs, and JSON.\n\nStrong grasp of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.\n\nExperience with Jira and Confluence.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data issue investigation and root-cause analysis.\n\nAbility to communicate and negotiate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, and to influence solution design.\n\nExcellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a global, cross-regional team.\n\nEnglish B2+, C1 preferred.\n\nCan-do attitude and willingness to learn.\n\nNice to have\nExperience with Databricks (Databricks SQL, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Workflows).\n\nExperience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.\n\nKnowledge of Python or PySpark for data exploration.\n\nFamiliarity with data governance, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.\n\nExperience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and cost/performance optimization of analytics workloads.\n\nExperience with financial systems, invoicing, payments, or insurance data.\n\nExperience with production support and root-cause analysis.\n\nWhat we offer\nContract under Polish law: B2B or Umowa o Pracę\n\nBenefits such as private medical care, group insurance, Multisport card\n\nThere are English classes available\n\nHybrid work in Warsaw (Mokotów)\n\nOpportunity to work with excellent professionals\n\nHigh standards of work and focus on the quality of code\n\nNew technologies in use\n\nContinuously learning and growth\n\nInternational team\n\nPinball, PlayStation & much more (on-site )\n\nJoin a growing team of dedicated professionals!\nWe love to pass on the knowledge to grow excellence, speak our minds without playing politics, and just enjoy hanging around together.
