Develops and implements shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to ensure efficient operation. \nDirects and supervises all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion. \nTours the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems. \nMakes recommendations to the Operations Manager and/or the Distribution Center Manager on programs to improve warehouse operations. \nAllocates equipment so that it is utilized in the most efficient manner. \nInteracts with other departmental management to achieve goals. \nAttends warehouse planning meetings. \nEnsures that all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained. \nReviews operating goals and standards and monitor achievement. \nSupervises checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes. \nReviews warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented. \nEnsures that all safety procedures and policies are followed. \nOperates in compliance with OSHA and other appropriate standards. \nAssist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts as required. \nAssist in developing and maintaining the operational budget as required. \nEnsure that Weber SSS (Safety, Security and Sanitation) procedures are trained on, practiced and strictly enforced. \nPerforms incident root cause analysis and identifies corrective action as required. \nPerforms other duties as assigned. \nRequirements\n Qualifications:\nAbility to multi-task in a fast paced environment. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills required. \nAble to work effectively with a wide range of personnel. \nGood analytical skills, as well as, independent thinking/reasoning ability. \nTeam oriented with a continuous improvement outlook. \nBasic working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Outlook). \nWorking knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems such as Synapse. \nEducation, Experiences, Certificates/Licenses and/or Registrations:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in management/administration preferred. \nMinimum 3 years of experience in a direct supervision capacity. \nLogistics/Transportation industry experience highly preferred. \n Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:\nWhile performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to sit and stand to perform the work. The associate is required to reach with hands and arms, smell, talk and hear. The associate must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to fifty (50) pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy and the associate may be exposed to extreme weather.
