The Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that all laboratory procedures being performed in areas of responsibility will comply with all regulatory, accrediting, and licensure requirements.Responsibilities:\nPerforms accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.Perform method validations and ongoing method assessments.Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with regulatory and departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols.Establishes policies, procedures, and protocols for testing performed in a defined laboratory section(s). Defines analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and reference ranges for test methods. Oversees quality control testing and instrument maintenance.Assists with the development of training material and the competency assessment tools used by the department and ensure that all associated documentation is kept up to date.Reports test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols.Oversees inventory management and provides input into the budget process.Assess competency of team members.Effectively manages resources such as productivity, supplies, instruments and equipment.
