This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.\n\nThe Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests on construction materials, ensuring they meet specified standards and contribute to the overall success and safety of the Snowy 2.0 Project.\n\nQualifications:\nAssociate degree or equivalent certification in Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering or a related field.\nProven experience in a laboratory or construction materials testing role.\nFamiliarity with relevant laboratory equipment and testing methods.\nC Class Driver’s Licence\nWhite Card\nExperience:\nMinimum 2 years’ experience in a laboratory role within the construction industry, preferably in tunnelling projects.\nProficiency in conducting tests on construction materials such as soil, concrete, shotcrete and rock.\nKnowledge of laboratory safety protocols.\n\nRequired Competencies: \nExpertise in conducting various laboratory tests on construction materials, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.\nFamiliarity with and ability to operate laboratory testing equipment.\nKnowledge of Quality Management Systems and NATA requirements related to laboratory testing, reporting and documentation\nSound negotiation and problem-solving skills\nStrong initiative and proactive nature\nKey collaborative skills\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills\nWell-developed time management skills\nHigh attention to detail\nExceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint\n\nCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities:\nConduct laboratory tests on construction materials, including soil, concrete, shotcrete and rock, in accordance with project specifications and standards as well as NATA requirements.\nImplement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.\nOperate and maintain laboratory testing equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.\nAccurately record and report test results, maintaining comprehensive documentation of laboratory activities.\nAdhere to and promote laboratory safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.\nIdentify and address challenges related to laboratory testing, providing effective solutions.\nEffectively communicate test results and findings to project teams, engineers and other stakeholders.\nCollaborate with construction crews, project managers, and other laboratory technicians to ensure seamless integration of testing processes.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in laboratory testing procedures.\n\nAs an employee you will be eligible to participate in a number of additional employee benefits.
