This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.\n\nPurpose of the Role\nThe Environmental Coordinator is accountable for the day-to-day coordination of site-based environmental management activities and construction team support to ensure that Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) maintains a robust Environmental Management System in accordance with the approved Environmental Protection Licence, Conditions of Consent, Environmental Management Strategy and associated Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and client specifications.\n\nQualifications\nTertiary qualifications in environmental management or a related discipline\nMinimum class C driver licence\nWhite Card\nExperience\nMinimum 5 years of experience working in the construction industry in a similar role preferred\nExperience in the development and implementation of environmental management systems and plans\nInterpretation and implementation of environmental programs to ensure compliance with environmental approval conditions and environmental management systems\nExperience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable project works\nDemonstrated experience managing teams on environmentally sensitive projects\n\nRequired Competencies\nAbility to build sound working relationships with clients and colleagues\nAbility to coach and mentor\nAbility to work to deadlines and targets\nAbility to effectively prioritise and make confident decisions\nStrong initiative, organisational skills and attention to detail\nAbility to maintain focus and deliver outcomes in dynamic or challenging situations while adapting to changing priorities\nSound negotiation skills\nCapability to lead teams effectively and maintain a productive work environment during periods of high workload or organisational change\nAbility to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with on-site construction teams\nFundamental understanding of ISO AS/NZS 14001\nCommitment and proactive approach to site safety processes and practices\nEffective analytical and communication skills, including report writing\n\nCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities\nProvide advice and support to the site construction management team to ensure compliance with statutory, FGJV and client environmental obligations.\nImplement and develop environmental plans and subsidiary systems documentation as required.\nCommunicate HSSE issues and standards.\nSupport the site environment team and ensure they are properly resourced to meet all relevant environmental obligations.\nAssist in identifying environmental training requirements.\nAnalyse and report FGJV lead (LPI’s) and lag (incident reporting) targets to Project Management.\nReview changes to design or methodologies affecting environment or sustainability and ensure they are captured in risk assessments, Job Safety Environmental Analyses (JSEAs) or Safe Work Method Statements (SWMSs) as required.\nEnsure all incident events and investigations are properly conducted, recorded and information closed out in accordance with FGJV reporting timeframes.\nEscalate critical environmental issues.\nPromote a dynamic and positive QHSSE culture focused on achieving success.\nCoach and mentor Environmental Advisors.\nManage environmental sub-contractors.\nManage and coordinate all environmental actions raised.\nDraft regulatory response letters and reports as required.\nSupport all environmental audits as required.\nLead the site Environmental Technical Assistants.\nEnsure representation is maintained at key construction planning and coordination meetings.\nUndertake additional tasks, as directed by Environmental Management/Superintendent to support FGJV’s Project HSSE goals and values.\nThe above listed authorities and responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.\n\nAs an employee you will be eligible to participate in a number of additional employee benefits.
