The Site Safety Coordinator is to ensure that FGJV WHS systems and processes are implemented for all construction activities to enable the provision of a healthy and safe working environment for all personnel.The Site Safety Coordinator will act as the point of contact in the absence of the Site Safety Manager within the confines of the delegated authority.\n\nQualifications\nEssential\nDiploma - Work Health & Safety or equivalent\nConstruction Induction Card\nDrivers Licence\nIncident Investigation Training\nWhite Card\nDesirable\nICAM\nInternal Auditing\nCertificate IV in Training and Assessment\nExperience\nEssential\nMinimum 7 years’ experience working in construction and or tunnelling senior safety roles\nLeading and managing direct reports\nDesirable\nDemonstrated experience on large-scale major infrastructure projects\nSafety management tools and techniques\nQuantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls\nDemonstratable understanding of construction delivery techniques and high-risk construction activities\nClient liaison\nRegulator engagement experience\nIndustrial relations knowledge and experience\nSafety management experience on large-scale construction projects\nKnowledge of and experience in underground excavation techniques (drill and blast, sequential excavation method, TBM)\nFamiliar with managing OFSC system compliance\n\nRequired Competencies\nInterpretation, reasoning and judgement skills with an ability to identify and solve complex problems\nStrong initiative and proactive nature\nHigh-level collaboration and influencing skills\nHigh-level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing\nWell-developed time management skills\nHigh attention to detail\nHigh-level public speaking and presentation skills\nGenuine commitment and proactive approach to site safety processes and practices\nConfident decision-making ability\nSound leadership skills\nInvestigation, analysis, preparation and delivery of Incident Investigation reports\nExceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint\n\nCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities\nInterpret and apply relevant WHS Legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.\nComplete audits and risk assessments.\nProvide advice and support to the construction management team to ensure compliance with statutory, FGJV and Client Safety obligations.\nImplement Safety plans and subsidiary systems documentation.\nCommunicate Safety issues and standards.\nAssist in the development and maintenance of the Area Safety Activity Schedule.\nCoordinate implementation of the Area Safety Activity Schedule and initiatives, including but not necessarily limited toSafety Compliance Audits\nWorkplace Inspections\nSystem data input and interpretation\nEmergency Drills and Exercises.\n\nCoordinate the area Safety team to ensure there are appropriate resources available resourced to meet the obligations of the Safety Activity Schedule and construction program.\nAssist in identifying and delivering Safety training requirements.\nAnalyse and report FGJV lead and lag targets to Project Management.\nEnsure all incidents are reported, internally and externally, and event investigations are properly conducted, recorded and information closed out in accordance with FGJV HSSE Management System and Client timeframes.\nPromote a dynamic and positive Safety culture focused on executing properly planned and managed construction activities.\nEnsure that personal KPI requirements are met, as well as those of direct reports.\nManage, coach and mentor Site Safety Advisors.\nEnsure HSE representation is maintained at key construction planning and coordination meetings.\nEnsure all position deliverables are completed on time and to a high level of quality.\nSupport the Operations Safety Managers as and when required.\nThe above listed authorities and responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.\n\nAs an employee you will be eligible to participate in a number of additional employee benefits.
