Operational leadership & performance\n\nOversee WEDAC’s daily microfinance operations across existing and new service locations.\n\nDevelop and implement operational plans aligned with institutional strategic objectives.\n\nEstablish efficient systems, procedures, and performance monitoring mechanisms.\n\nSupervise field operations, loan administration, collections, and branch activities.\n\nImprove staff productivity, operational efficiency, and customer service.\n\n2. Branch expansion & business growth\nLead the establishment and operationalization of WEDAC’s proposed branches in Mbulu, Dongobesh, and Katesh.\n\nDevelop practical branch rollout plans, staffing structures, budgets, and performance targets.\n\nIdentify business growth opportunities in underserved rural markets.\n\nDrive customer acquisition, loan portfolio expansion, and market penetration.\n\nEnsure new branches achieve operational efficiency and progress toward financial sustainability.\n\nDevelop strategies to reduce field operational costs while increasing customer outreach.\n\n3. Loan portfolio management & risk control\nMonitor portfolio quality, repayment performance, and delinquency trends.\n\nImplement effective loan monitoring and recovery strategies.\n\nStrengthen credit assessment, disbursement, and collection procedures.\n\nEstablish early-warning mechanisms for portfolio deterioration.\n\nEnsure compliance with institutional credit policies and applicable Bank of Tanzania regulations.\n\n4. Team leadership & capacity development\nSupervise and mentor branch officers, field officers, and operational teams.\n\nEstablish clear performance targets and accountability mechanisms.\n\nCoordinate staff recruitment, training, deployment, and performance evaluations.\n\nPromote a culture of integrity, teamwork, accountability, and results.\n\n5. Operational systems & reporting\nStrengthen the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) for loan tracking, reporting, and operational decision-making.\n\nEnsure accurate and timely operational and portfolio reports.\n\nMonitor branch budgets, operational expenditures, and productivity.\n\nProvide regular performance analysis and recommendations to senior management.\n\nCollaborate with Finance and other departments to strengthen internal controls.\n\nRequired qualifications\n\nEducation\n\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.\n\nA postgraduate qualification in Management, Finance, or Business Administration will be an added advantage.\n\nProfessional experience\n\nMinimum 10 years of relevant experience in microfinance, banking, or financial services.\n\nAt least 5 years in an operational leadership or supervisory role.\n\nDemonstrated experience in managing loan portfolios, field operations, and branch performance.\n\nProven ability to lead business expansion, establish new branches, or manage decentralized operations.\n\nExperience working with rural communities, women’s lending groups, and agricultural financing is highly desirable.\n\nKey competencies\n\nWe are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate:\n\nStrong operational leadership and execution skills.\n\nProven loan portfolio growth and recovery experience.\n\nAbility to establish and manage new branches.\n\nSound understanding of microfinance risk management.\n\nStrong financial analysis and budgeting capabilities.\n\nExperience managing geographically dispersed teams.\n\nProficiency in microfinance MIS and digital financial services.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\n\nHigh integrity, accountability, and problem-solving ability.\n\nWillingness to travel extensively within Arusha and Manyara Regions.\n\nWhat we are looking for\n\nWe want a leader who can
