As a Made-to-Order Compounding Supervisor, you'll lead a team of compounding technicians at our Swedesboro, NJ facility. You'll own the daily operation of anticipatory and extemporaneous compounding: setting priorities, coaching your team, and keeping every batch compliant with USP standards and our SOPs. You'll report to the Director of Compounding Operations, NJ, and work closely with pharmacists, quality assurance, inventory, and customer service. In this role, you’ll lead a team of compounding technicians and take ownership of the department’s daily operations, including safety, quality, compliance, productivity, and team development.\nYou’ll work closely with Pharmacy, Quality Assurance, Inventory, Customer Service, and other operational partners to ensure our team continues to deliver safe, accurate, and timely medications.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead & Develop Your Team\nProvide day-to-day leadership, coaching, feedback, and support to compounding technicians.\nSet clear expectations and hold the team accountable for performance, quality, safety, and productivity.\nSupport onboarding, training, competency assessments, and cross-training.\nRecognize strong performance and help team members develop their skills and prepare for future opportunities.\nPartner with HR and leadership as needed to address employee relations and performance matters.\nOwn Safe & Compliant Operations\nEnsure compounding activities meet USP <795> and <800>, New Jersey Board of Pharmacy requirements, and company SOPs.\nReview batch records, documentation, and beyond-use dating for accuracy and completeness.\nSupport and lead investigations involving deviations, errors, or near-misses and ensure appropriate corrective actions are completed.\nMaintain an audit-ready environment.\nDrive Performance & Service\nCoordinate daily staffing, workload, and priorities to meet production and turnaround-time expectations.\nServe as an escalation point for urgent orders and operational challenges.\nPartner with Inventory and Purchasing to ensure ingredients and supplies are available when needed.\nMonitor department performance, including quality, accuracy, throughput, turnaround time, safety, and team engagement.\nChampion Continuous Improvement\nUse data and performance trends to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.\n\nImprove processes to strengthen quality, efficiency, productivity, and capacity.\n\nIdentify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.\n\nEncourage employees to identify challenges and recommend better ways of working.\n\nSupport change while reinforcing a culture of continuous learning and improvement.\n\nWhat You Bring\nRequired qualifications:\nActive New Jersey Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.\n2+ years of hands-on compounding experience in a pharmacy setting.\nWorking knowledge of USP <795> and compounding documentation practices.\nAssociate degree or equivalent experience in a compounding pharmacy.\nDemonstrated ability to train, coach, mentor, or provide leadership to others.\nStrong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nAbility to understand KPIs and use data to improve safety, quality, productivity, and performance.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.\nWorking knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.\nAbility to lead by example, build trust, motivate others, and hold team members accountable.\nPreferred Qualifications\n1+ year of lead or supervisory experience.\nBachelor’s degree.\nPTCB certification or compounding-specific certification.\nExperience with Sage MAS500 or another ERP/pharmacy management system.\nExperience with CAPA investigations, Lean, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.\nPrevious participation in quality or productivity improvement projects.\nSchedule & Work Environment\nMonday-Friday, 2:30 PM-11:00 PM\nOccasional extended hours or weekend support may be required during peak periods.\nThis position works primarily in a production pharmacy environment and requires being on your feet for much of the shift.\nMust be able to lift or move up to 35 lbs. occasionally and perform regular reaching and bending.\nRequired PPE and applicable cleanroom/containment procedures must be followed.\nWhy People Choose Wedgewood\nPeople join Wedgewood for meaningful work, stability, and the opportunity to grow.
