They should be comfortable undertaking analytical and advisory assignments for industry, government, and other institutions, with the ability to develop actionable recommendations supported by robust economic evidence.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct applied economic research and quantitative and qualitative policy analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.\nApply economic principles, including applied microeconomics, cost-benefit analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, and financial modelling, to evaluate policies and projects.\nAnalyse resource economics, economic incentives, and market-based instruments (MBIs) to assess policy options and their potential outcomes.\nEvaluate tariffs, subsidies, externalities, cost allocation mechanisms, and economic trade-offs across sectors.\nUndertake quantitative analysis using statistical methods and econometric techniques.\nTranslate scientific findings and technical evidence into economic assessments and practical policy recommendations.\nAssess the economic impact of industrial, environmental, and resource-related regulations.\nStructure and deliver analytical and advisory assignments for industry, government bodies, and other institutions.\nDevelop clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations to inform regulatory and policy decisions.\nEssential Skills and Competencies\nStrong foundation in Applied Microeconomics and economic analysis.\nKnowledge of environmental economics, resource economics, and economic incentives.\nExperience in cost-benefit analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, and financial modelling.\nUnderstanding of tariffs, subsidies, externalities, and cost allocation.\nStrong quantitative and qualitative research capabilities, including statistical analysis and econometrics.\nAbility to interpret scientific and technical evidence and translate it into economic insights.\nStrong analytical, report-writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience in managing and delivering economic research or policy advisory assignments.\nMust-Have Skills\nApplied Microeconomics\nEnvironmental Economics\nImpact Assessment\nGood-to-Have markets, carbon pricing, and decarbonisation economics.\nClimate adaptation economics and economic assessment of climate-related risks.\nWater pricing, allocation, and water-resource economics.\nEnergy and infrastructure economics, including electricity tariffs and cost allocation.\nEducational Qualifications\nA Master’s degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Public Policy, Environmental and Resource Economics, or a related discipline is preferred.\nExperience and Background\nApproximately 5-6 years of relevant professional experience in applied economics, economic research, public-policy analysis, infrastructure or environmental advisory, or economic consulting.\nExperience working on assignments involving industry, government, or other institutional stakeholders is preferred.\nDemonstrated ability to conduct quantitative analysis, evaluate economic and regulatory issues, and develop actionable recommendations supported by economic
