maintainability.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and Go.\nBuild reliable, secure, and high-performance APIs and backend applications.\nTranslate product and technical requirements into maintainable backend solutions.\nDesign service architectures that support scalability, reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.\nDevelop RESTful APIs, microservices, integrations, and backend components.\nWrite clean, reusable, testable, and production-ready code following established engineering practices.\nWork with relational and NoSQL databases to design efficient data models and queries.\nImplement appropriate caching, asynchronous processing, messaging, and distributed-system patterns where required.\nOptimise application performance, resource utilisation, scalability, and system responsiveness.\nDevelop unit, integration, and automated tests to maintain backend quality and reliability.\nParticipate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and peer code reviews.\nTroubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.\nCollaborate with frontend, product, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and other engineering teams.\nSupport CI/CD pipelines, deployments, monitoring, logging, and production-release activities.\nImprove system observability through appropriate logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.\nIdentify technical debt, architectural improvements, and opportunities for automation and engineering efficiency.\nContribute to documentation, coding standards, development processes, and backend engineering best practices.\nStay current with developments in Python, Go, distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and modern backend engineering.\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit\n4+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering or a closely related role.\nStrong hands-on expertise in Python and Go, with experience building production-grade backend systems.\nStrong understanding of backend architecture, software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.\nProven experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed backend services.\nStrong understanding of databases, data modelling, query optimisation, and transaction management.\nExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and familiarity with NoSQL technologies is an advantage.\nGood understanding of concurrency, asynchronous processing, caching, messaging, and distributed-system concepts.\nStrong knowledge of software testing, debugging, performance optimisation, and production troubleshooting.\nExperience with Git and modern CI/CD development workflows.\nFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability, and infrastructure automation is an advantage.\nStrong understanding of secure software development and API security practices.\nAbility to independently own technical problems from design through implementation, deployment, and support.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to code quality and system reliability.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and cross-functional stakeholders.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to evolving architecture and engineering practices.\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is
