Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.\nBuild reliable workflows for third-party service orchestration, verification processes, and case-management systems.\nIntegrate external APIs, handle authentication, validate responses, normalise data, and manage integration failures.\nDesign and maintain relational database schemas, data models, and efficient queries using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar databases.\nBuild reliable data-processing pipelines with appropriate error handling, retries, timeouts, and logging.\nDevelop scalable backend components with a focus on performance, maintainability, security, and service reliability.\nTake ownership of features throughout the development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and technical design to deployment and ongoing support.\nMonitor production systems, investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.\nCollaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.\nWrite clean, reusable, testable code and participate in code reviews to maintain engineering standards.\nSupport CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, containerisation, and application monitoring.\nContribute to event-driven workflows and asynchronous processing where required.\nDocument APIs, integration patterns, architectural decisions, and operational procedures.\nHelp improve development workflows, testing practices, and overall platform reliability.\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit\n3-6 years of full-time professional software engineering experience, excluding internships.\nStrong hands-on proficiency in Python and backend application development.\nExperience designing and building REST APIs and integrating third-party services.\nSolid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimisation.\nKnowledge of reliable integration patterns, error handling, retries, timeouts, and API failure management.\nExperience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and container technologies such as Docker.\nUnderstanding of asynchronous processing, queues, event-driven architectures, and distributed-system fundamentals is an advantage.\nExperience in fintech, payments, KYC/KYB verification, compliance platforms, or other API-intensive products is preferred.\nStrong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently, manage ambiguity, and take end-to-end ownership of technical deliverables.\nClear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a lean, fast-moving engineering
