understanding of the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem.\nThis role requires a professional who can bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements for scalable, reliable, and governed data platforms.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nAct as a Business Systems Analyst for enterprise data, cloud transformation, and data platform initiatives.\nGather, analyse, and document business, functional, and data requirements from stakeholders.\nDefine requirements for developing, enhancing, and evolving Azure-based data platforms.\nWork with technical teams leveraging ADLS, Databricks, SQL, and related data technologies.\nSupport the definition and evolution of data models across raw, curated, and consumption layers.\nCollaborate with data engineers and architects to define data inputs, transformations, outputs, dependencies, and data flows.\nDefine data quality standards, validation rules, business logic, metadata requirements, and data control mechanisms.\nEnsure data requirements address application functionality, regulatory obligations, compliance, and auditability.\nPartner with engineering teams to establish requirements for KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and business reporting.\nDefine KPI calculations, business definitions, data dependencies, and monitoring requirements.\nAnalyse business processes and data flows to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.\nPrepare detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, process flows, data specifications, and acceptance criteria.\nFacilitate discussions across business, product, data, and technology teams to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and stakeholder discussions.\nSupport UAT by validating requirements, data scenarios, business rules, and expected outcomes.\nMaintain requirements traceability and accurate documentation throughout development, testing, and implementation.\nCommunicate complex data and business concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit\n12-15 years of overall experience in Business Analysis or Business Systems Analysis, with substantial exposure to data-driven initiatives.\nProven experience supporting enterprise data platforms, cloud transformation, or data modernisation projects.\nStrong understanding of the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, particularly ADLS, Databricks, and SQL.\nGood knowledge of data ingestion, pipelines, transformations, data flows, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse concepts.\nExperience defining data requirements and supporting modelling across raw, curated, and consumption layers.\nStrong understanding of data quality, validation, metadata, lineage, governance, and audit controls.\nExperience translating business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements for engineering teams.\nStrong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and requirements clarification.\nExperience defining KPIs, metrics, reporting requirements, and data-driven business rules.\nExcellent requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.\nStrong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and end-to-end software delivery.\nAbility to coordinate across cross-functional and distributed teams while managing competing priorities.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.\nA bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline is
