Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management\nLead, mentor, and develop an operations and DevOps team, ensuring effective execution of technical and operational priorities.\nCollaborate with software developers, system administrators, quantitative analysts, traders, and other cross-functional stakeholders.\nAlign technical initiatives with business objectives, operational requirements, and delivery timelines.\nEstablish clear responsibilities, promote knowledge sharing, and drive accountability across the team.\n2. DevOps Automation and Deployment\nDesign, develop, and maintain deployment pipelines to streamline software releases and improve delivery efficiency.\nAutomate configuration management, infrastructure operations, and repetitive operational workflows.\nBuild Python-based tools and utilities to simplify system administration, optimise operational processes, and improve system performance.\nImplement and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.\nImprove deployment reliability, consistency, and repeatability across environments.\n3. Technical Leadership and Engineering Standards\nEstablish and enforce coding standards, development practices, and technical guidelines.\nConduct code reviews and ensure the quality, maintainability, and reliability of Python and modern C++ code.\nPromote consistency in DevOps practices across teams and operating environments.\nMaintain technical documentation covering infrastructure, deployment processes, operational procedures, and system architecture.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and engineering practices to improve technical effectiveness.\n4. Infrastructure Operations and System Performance\nOversee day-to-day system operations and ensure high availability, scalability, reliability, and security.\nDesign and maintain robust infrastructure architectures that support business-critical applications.\nMonitor system health, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimisation strategies.\nManage cloud infrastructure, containerisation technologies, and orchestration platforms.\nWork with Linux operating systems and command-line tools to manage infrastructure and troubleshoot operational issues.\nMake informed infrastructure decisions based on performance, resilience, cost, and business requirements.\n5. Incident Management and Troubleshooting\nLead incident response activities and coordinate the resolution of infrastructure, deployment, and application issues.\nInvestigate root causes of recurring incidents and implement preventive measures.\nDevelop automated recovery mechanisms and operational safeguards to minimise service disruptions.\nEstablish monitoring, alerting, and escalation processes to identify potential issues proactively.\nDrive continuous improvements in incident management, system resilience, and operational readiness.\n6. Strategic Technical Planning\nIdentify infrastructure and operational requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.\nContribute to architecture decisions, capacity planning, technology selection, and long-term infrastructure strategy.\nEvaluate new tools and platforms to improve automation, observability, and operational efficiency.\nStay updated on DevOps methodologies, cloud technologies, software engineering practices, and infrastructure trends.\n7. Reporting and Continuous Improvement\nTrack operational metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including system availability, deployment efficiency, incident frequency, and resolution time.\nPrepare performance reports and communicate operational risks, progress, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership.\nIdentify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase team productivity and system reliability.\nPromote a culture of automation, engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.\nMust-Have Skills\nPython: Strong programming and scripting skills for automation, operational tooling, system integration, and process optimisation.\n Modern C++ (C++17 and above): Strong hands-on expertise in modern C++ and the ability to work with complex software systems.\nCloud Technologies: Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, deployment environments, scalability, reliability, and security.\nDevOps Engineering: Practical experience with deployment automation, infrastructure operations, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines.\nLinux and System Administration: Proficiency in Linux operating systems, command-line tools, and
