The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in last-mile logistics, delivery operations, route optimization, fleet management, service quality, and operational excellence. This role will be responsible for building a reliable and cost-efficient last-mile network while ensuring timely deliveries and an exceptional customer experience.\nThe Last Mile Head will lead large operational teams, manage delivery performance, establish effective processes, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business and service-level objectives.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the end-to-end last-mile delivery function, including planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement.\nDevelop and implement strategies to improve delivery speed, reliability, productivity, and cost efficiency.\nManage delivery operations across multiple cities, hubs, dark stores, warehouses, or distribution centers as applicable.\nLead and mentor regional, city, hub, and field operations teams to achieve business and operational targets.\nDefine and monitor key metrics such as OTD, delivery TAT, first-attempt delivery rate, order productivity, cost per delivery, cancellation rate, and customer satisfaction.\nOptimize delivery routes, rider/fleet utilization, manpower deployment, delivery capacity, and operating schedules.\nIdentify operational bottlenecks and implement data-driven solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.\nDevelop SOPs, processes, and governance mechanisms to ensure consistent execution across locations.\nPartner with technology, supply chain, warehouse, customer experience, finance, and business teams to improve the overall delivery ecosystem.\nManage operational escalations and ensure timely resolution of customer and business-critical issues.\nDrive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality and delivery performance.\nBuild dashboards and review mechanisms to track operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, safety standards, statutory requirements, and operational guidelines.\nMust-Have Skill: Last Mile\nStrong and extensive experience in last-mile delivery and logistics operations.\nProven experience managing large-scale delivery networks, field teams, and geographically distributed operations.\nStrong understanding of route planning, delivery capacity management, fleet/rider productivity, hub operations, and service-level metrics.\nAbility to design and execute scalable last-mile strategies in high-volume environments.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to operational decision-making.\nDemonstrated experience in improving delivery efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing customer experience.\nStrong leadership, team management, stakeholder management, and execution capabilities.\nGood-to-Have Skill: 3PL\nExperience working with 3PL partners, logistics vendors, fleet operators, or external delivery agencies.\nAbility to evaluate and manage 3PL performance against SLAs, KPIs, cost, and quality benchmarks.\nExperience in vendor negotiations, partner onboarding, capacity planning, and performance governance.\nUnderstanding of 3PL contracts, commercial models, escalation management, and
