The role involves working closely with the leadership team to ensure high-quality client delivery across Direct Tax Advisory and Litigation, with a focus on Corporate Taxation and International Taxation.\nThe ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in Indian and international tax laws, the ability to manage complex tax engagements, and experience coordinating client deliverables within demanding timelines. This position also involves supporting business development, managing client relationships, ensuring compliance, and mentoring junior team members.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nTax Advisory and Litigation\nSupport the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple tax advisory and litigation projects within defined timelines.\nAdvise clients on complex direct taxation matters, including corporate tax and international tax issues.\nWork closely with Senior Managers and Directors to lead and execute tax engagements.\nManage and coordinate tax submissions, assessments, and appeal hearings before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Tribunals, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.\nSupport tax risk management and assurance processes while ensuring compliance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).\nAssist in monitoring resource allocation and chargeability across tax engagements.\nEnsure compliance with applicable direct tax regulations and requirements.\nClient and Business Management\nSupport senior team members in client fee negotiations, engagement scoping, and commercial discussions.\nGather and analyse business intelligence relevant to the Direct Tax practice.\nBuild and maintain strong client relationships to enhance service delivery, client satisfaction, and market visibility.\nDevelop professional relationships with tax authorities, business leaders, functional heads, and other key stakeholders.\nCoordinate with local and international tax teams, external consultants, and service providers to ensure effective execution of client assignments.\nContribute to business development and client acquisition initiatives through industry relationships and commercial awareness.\nTeam Management and Development\nGuide and mentor junior team members working on tax advisory and litigation assignments.\nSupport team training, knowledge sharing, and professional development initiatives.\nAssist in evaluating team performance and ensuring quality across tax engagements.\nCoordinate with internal teams to provide tax advisory support across domestic and international jurisdictions.\nContribute to tax engagement assessments and year-end tax provisions.\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nStrong technical expertise in Direct Taxation, including Corporate Tax and applicable Indian and International Tax laws.\nWorking knowledge of allied regulations such as the Black Money Act (BMA) and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).\nStrong financial and statistical analytical capabilities.\nCommercial awareness and a client-focused approach.\nAbility to manage multiple engagements, competing priorities, and strict deadlines.\nStrong business development, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.\nExcellent leadership, mentoring, decision-making, and interpersonal abilities.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate business objectives and organisational values.\nHigh ethical standards, professional integrity, and attention to detail.\nMust-Have Skills\nDirect Taxation\nCorporate Tax\nGood-to-Have Skills\nInternational Tax\nTax Litigation\nEducational Qualifications\nQualified Chartered Accountant (CA).\nExperience\n 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Taxation.\nRelevant experience in tax advisory, corporate taxation, litigation, assessments, and client engagement management is preferred.\nIdeal Candidate Profile\nThe ideal candidate is a technically strong Chartered Accountant with sound experience in direct tax advisory and litigation.
