Role Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced Manager - Field Application Engineering (FAE) to lead the Field Application Engineering function across the West Region. The role involves managing a team of 10+ Field Application Engineers, driving technical customer engagements, developing semiconductor design-in opportunities, and converting them into design wins and production business.\nThe ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of semiconductor application engineering expertise, regional team leadership, customer relationship management, and commercial business orientation. The candidate will collaborate closely with Regional Sales, Product Marketing, Business Development teams, and semiconductor principals to drive regional growth through technical enablement and strategic customer engagement.\nRequirements\n2. Key Responsibilities\nA. Regional FAE Leadership and Team Management\nLead and manage a team of 10+ Field Application Engineers across the West Region.\nOversee regional technical support and application engineering activities across key customer accounts.\nAllocate FAE resources based on customer priorities, strategic accounts, and business opportunities.\nDefine team objectives, monitor performance, and conduct periodic reviews.\nMentor and develop FAE team members to strengthen their technical capabilities and customer engagement skills.\nEnsure effective coordination between FAE, Sales, Product Marketing, and Business Development teams.\nB. Design-In, Design Win and Business Development\nDrive Design-In (DIN), Design Win (DWIN), and Production Win (PWIN) targets across the West Region.\nIdentify, develop, and track New Business Opportunities (NBOs) through customer engagements and emerging project requirements.\nBuild and manage a structured design-in pipeline, ensuring conversion from design-in to design win and production.\nCollaborate with Sales and Product Marketing teams to convert technical opportunities into commercial business.\nTrack project value, estimated Bill of Materials (BOM) potential, production volumes, revenue opportunities, and conversion timelines.\nSupport regional revenue growth through technical engagements and strategic customer development.\nC. Technical and Application Engineering\nProvide technical guidance on semiconductor and electronic component selection, evaluation, and application development.\nSupport Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), and Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) customers throughout product design, prototyping, testing, validation, and mass production.\nLead troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis for hardware and application-related issues.\nCoordinate with semiconductor principals and manufacturers to resolve technical escalations.\nSupport New Product Introductions (NPI) and promote the semiconductor product portfolio.\nD. Customer and Principal Management\nEstablish and strengthen technical relationships with key OEMs, ODMs, EMS companies, and Tier-1 customers.\nConduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, design reviews, and customer workshops.\nCollaborate with semiconductor principals to identify emerging technologies and customer-specific opportunities.\nParticipate in strategic account planning and regional business development initiatives.\nGather market intelligence, competitor insights, and customer feedback.\nE. Cross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Regional Sales Heads, Product Managers, Product Marketing, and Business Development teams.\nSupport sales teams during technical discussions, customer presentations, and business closures.\nAlign technical opportunities with commercial priorities and regional revenue objectives.\nPrepare regular Management Information System (MIS) reports and management updates covering design-in pipelines, design wins, production wins, and new business opportunities.\n3. Technical Expertise\nCandidates should have experience in one or more of the following semiconductor and electronic component categories:\nMicrocontrollers (MCUs), Microprocessors (MPUs), and Systems on Chips (SoCs).\nAnalog and Mixed-Signal ICs.\nPower Management ICs (PMICs).\nPower Semiconductors, including MOSFETs and IGBTs.\nMemory Products, including DRAM, NAND, and NOR Flash.\nConnectivity technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RF, and Wireless.\nSensors, Embedded Systems, and Interface ICs.\nPassive Components and other Electronic Components.\n4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)\n Design-In (DIN): Identification and development of new design-in opportunities.\n Design Win (DWIN): Conversion of design-in opportunities into confirmed design wins.\n Production Win (PWIN): Conversion of design wins into production and commercial revenue.\n New Business Opportunities (NBO): Generation and development of new business opportunities.\nPipeline Management: Tracking project value, BOM potential, and conversion forecasts.\nRevenue Contribution: Business generated through FAE-led design wins.\nTeam Management: Productivity and performance of the 10+ FAE team.\n Customer Engagement: Quality of technical engagement, customer satisfaction, and strategic account support.\n5. Required Qualifications and Experience\n10-15 years of relevant experience in Field Application Engineering, Semiconductor Application Engineering, or related technical functions.\nB.E./B.Tech in Electronics, E&TC, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nProven experience managing and leading a team of 10+ Field Application Engineers.\nStrong understanding of semiconductor products, electronic components, and application engineering.\nDemonstrated experience driving design-in pipelines, design wins, and production business conversion.\nStrong customer relationship management, technical sales support, and business development capabilities.\nExperience coordinating with sales teams, product marketing, R&D, and semiconductor principals.\nMust-Have
