The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accurate and timely payroll operations, ensuring compliance with Indian payroll regulations, and maintaining robust controls across payroll processes.\nThis role requires a combination of technical SAP payroll expertise, financial accuracy, team leadership, and cross-functional coordination. The successful candidate must be capable of independently managing the complete payroll cycle, troubleshooting SAP payroll errors, and ensuring reliable payroll execution.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nManage the complete payroll cycle, ensuring accurate calculations and timely salary disbursements.\nValidate payroll inputs, including attendance, leave, salary revisions, incentives, arrears, reimbursements, and full and final settlements.\nIndependently execute, simulate, validate, and release payroll runs in SAP HR/HCM Payroll, resolving errors and exceptions.\nMaintain employee master data, infotypes, wage types, payroll schemas, personnel calculation rules (PCRs), and payroll control records.\nHandle retroactive accounting, off-cycle payroll, payroll corrections, and payroll-related reporting.\nCoordinate SAP payroll configuration changes, system enhancements, user acceptance testing (UAT), and technical troubleshooting.\nEnsure accurate payroll posting and integration with SAP FI/General Ledger.\nEnsure compliance with applicable Indian statutory requirements, including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), professional tax, income tax/TDS, gratuity, and bonus.\nManage statutory deductions, payments, returns, reconciliations, and employee tax documentation.\nMonitor regulatory changes and ensure their timely implementation in payroll processes.\nReconcile payroll records with the General Ledger, bank payments, employee records, and payroll liabilities.\nSupport month-end and year-end closing, payroll provisions, and financial reporting.\nLead the payroll team, manage payroll calendars, enforce standard operating procedures, and strengthen internal controls.\nPrepare payroll MIS, salary cost reports, variance analysis, and management reports.\nSupport internal and statutory audits by maintaining accurate payroll records and SAP reports.\nCoordinate with HR, Finance, IT, and external consultants to resolve payroll issues and improve operational efficiency.\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit\n5+ years of experience in end-to-end payroll administration, including experience in a managerial or team leadership capacity.\nStrong hands-on expertise in SAP HR/HCM Payroll, including payroll execution, validation, troubleshooting, and reporting.\nPractical knowledge of SAP payroll configuration concepts, including wage types, schemas, PCRs, infotypes, and payroll control records.\nExperience handling retroactive accounting, off-cycle payroll, payroll corrections, and payroll posting.\nStrong understanding of Indian payroll statutory compliance, labour regulations, taxation, PF, ESI, professional tax, and TDS.\nExperience with SAP FI integration, General Ledger reconciliation, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.\nAbility to independently manage the complete payroll cycle and resolve complex SAP payroll errors.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills, with exceptional attention to detail.\nExperience managing payroll teams, maintaining internal controls, and handling confidential employee information.\nProficiency in payroll reporting, MIS preparation, variance analysis, and audit documentation.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across HR, Finance, IT, and external partners.\nA proactive approach to process improvement, automation, system optimisation, and payroll
