This is a fully remote, client-facing role based in India, offering the opportunity to work closely with US-based controllers, CFOs, founders, and finance leaders.\nThe ideal candidate will have strong expertise in US GAAP, QuickBooks Online, month-end close management, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. You will take ownership of the complete accounting cycle for 6-10 clients, ensuring accurate and timely financial records, reliable reporting, and efficient close processes. The role also involves improving accounting workflows, supporting audits and tax preparation, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to automation and standardization initiatives.\nLocation: Remote within India\nEmployment Type: Full-time\nWorking Hours: Minimum four hours of overlap with US Pacific Time, approximately 8:30 PM-12:30 AM IST, with flexibility during month-end close.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the end-to-end monthly close process for 6-10 assigned clients, including bank and credit card reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, deferred revenue, and intercompany entries.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date books in QuickBooks Online, including bank feed categorization, bank rules, chart of accounts management, and vendor and customer records.\nReconcile payroll transactions and liabilities with the general ledger using platforms such as Gusto, Rippling, Justworks, or similar tools.\nManage accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, including vendor bill processing, approvals, customer invoicing, collections follow-ups, and expense management.\nPrepare monthly financial reporting packages, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, budget-to-actual comparisons, and financial commentary.\nReconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly, maintain supporting schedules, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding variances.\nSupport multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.\nPrepare schedules and documentation for audits, tax preparation, year-end reporting, and 1099 filings.\nServe as the primary day-to-day accounting contact for assigned clients, responding to queries, following up on outstanding information, and escalating complex matters to controllers or CFOs.\nCollaborate with US-based finance leaders to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and timely completion of deliverables.\nDocument accounting procedures, improve close checklists, and contribute to process standardization and close automation.\nReview the work of junior accountants and bookkeepers, provide guidance, and support their professional development.\nManage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to deadlines.\nMust-Have Skills\nQuickBooks Online: Expert-level proficiency in bookkeeping, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and month-end close activities.\nUS GAAP: Strong working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including accrual accounting, revenue recognition, prepaid expenses, and financial reporting.\nAt least five years of experience supporting US clients in an outsourced accounting, KPO, or public accounting environment.\nStrong experience managing the complete accounting cycle and month-end close independently.\nHands-on experience with payroll reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and balance sheet reconciliations.\nAdvanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, including lookup functions, pivot tables, and reconciliation workbooks.\nExcellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate professionally with US-based clients.\nStrong organizational, analytical, client management, and problem-solving skills.\nGood-to-Have Skills\nExperience with Xero and NetSuite.\nFamiliarity with Gusto, Rippling, Justworks, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Melio, or Expensify.\nQuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification.\nExperience supporting startup, SaaS, and venture-backed businesses.\nExposure to nonprofit fund accounting and multi-entity consolidations.\nFamiliarity with close automation, payroll integrations, and modern financial reporting tools.\nQualifications and Experience\nExperience: 5-8 years in accounting, including substantial experience supporting US clients.\n Education: Chartered Accountant (CA), CA Inter, CPA, MBA in Finance, M.Com, or an equivalent qualification supported by relevant experience.\nStrong understanding of financial statements, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and accounting controls.\nAbility to independently manage a portfolio of clients and prioritize competing deadlines.\nDemonstrated ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to
