You will contribute to technical design, application architecture, performance optimisation, and the development of robust production-ready systems.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python 3.x.\nBuild high-performance APIs and backend services using FastAPI and/or Flask.\nDesign and implement robust RESTful APIs following industry standards.\nDevelop and maintain API specifications and documentation using OpenAPI and Swagger.\nDesign and optimise database schemas and data-access layers using SQLAlchemy ORM.\nImplement effective session management, database transactions, and reliable data-processing workflows.\nWork with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL for application development and data management.\nPerform query optimisation, indexing, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting.\nDevelop applications using appropriate multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming techniques.\nEnsure backend services are thread-safe, reliable, and capable of handling concurrent workloads.\nDesign and develop scalable microservices and distributed systems.\nContribute to application architecture and technical design decisions.\nContainerise applications using Docker and manage deployments using Kubernetes.\nDeploy, operate, and troubleshoot applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nMonitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimisation strategies.\nWrite clean, reusable, maintainable, and testable code following established engineering standards.\nDevelop unit tests and participate in code reviews to maintain high software quality.\nTroubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.\nContribute to technical documentation, engineering standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit\n8+ years of hands-on experience in Python backend development.\nStrong expertise in Python 3.x and object-oriented software development.\nExtensive hands-on experience with FastAPI and/or Flask.\nStrong experience with SQLAlchemy ORM, session management, and database transactions.\nSolid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, asynchronous programming, and thread-safe application development.\nStrong experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, including database design, indexing, query optimisation, and performance tuning.\nProven experience designing and developing REST APIs and working with OpenAPI/Swagger.\nStrong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, scalability, and high-performance application design.\nHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience deploying and managing production applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nStrong knowledge of Git, code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and modern software engineering practices.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.\nExcellent understanding of application performance, reliability, maintainability, and scalability.\nAbility to work independently while
