This role is suited for a senior technology professional who can combine hands-on engineering with architectural ownership and technical leadership.\nThe ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, Node.js and/or Golang, MongoDB, distributed systems, algorithms, solution design, and scalable application architecture, with the ability to make critical technical decisions and guide engineering teams toward robust solutions.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and implement low-latency, highly available, scalable, and high-performance backend applications.\nOwn the architecture and technical direction of assigned modules and services.\nDesign, develop, and evolve microservices-based architectures for large-scale applications.\nWrite clean, reusable, testable, maintainable, and efficient production-grade code.\nDevelop backend services using Python, Node.js, Golang, or similar modern technologies.\nDesign and implement APIs and server-side application logic to support user-facing products.\nCollaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing components with robust server-side services.\nDesign and integrate MongoDB and other data-storage solutions based on application requirements.\nIntegrate multiple data sources, databases, external services, and internal systems into scalable backend architectures.\nEvaluate system design choices with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and cost.\nApply strong algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving approaches to complex engineering challenges.\nMake timely and pragmatic technical decisions while balancing product requirements and engineering constraints.\nDefine and communicate technical approaches, architecture decisions, design principles, and implementation strategies to relevant stakeholders.\nImplement appropriate security, data-protection, authentication, authorisation, and compliance practices.\nEnsure backend systems follow scalable application and software-design principles.\nIdentify performance bottlenecks and drive optimisation across application and infrastructure layers.\nEstablish coding standards, testing practices, design patterns, and engineering best practices.\nConduct technical reviews and contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards.\nMentor senior and junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex backend problems.\nContinuously evaluate technologies and approaches that can improve system performance, reliability, and developer productivity.\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit\n13+ years of experience in backend software engineering, distributed systems, microservices, or large-scale application development.\nStrong hands-on experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.\nDeep expertise in Python, Node.js, and/or Golang.\nStrong experience with MongoDB and NoSQL database technologies.\nExcellent understanding of algorithms, data structures, solution architecture, and complex problem-solving.\nProven experience designing scalable, highly available, low-latency, and performance-sensitive applications.\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, API design, service integration, and backend architecture.\nExperience integrating multiple data sources, databases, APIs, and external systems.\nStrong knowledge of fundamental software and system-design principles for scalable applications.\nExperience with server-side templating and CSS preprocessors is an advantage.\nStrong understanding of application security, data protection, accessibility, and security compliance.\nStrong coding standards with a focus on reusable, testable, maintainable, and efficient software.\nProven ability to take architectural ownership of modules and drive solutions from design through production.\nExcellent technical communication skills with the ability to articulate complex approaches to engineering and business stakeholders.\nStrong leadership, decision-making, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to balance hands-on engineering with architecture, technical strategy, and team-level
