maintain scalable backend applications using Python 3.x.\nBuild high-performance RESTful APIs using FastAPI and/or Flask.\nDesign scalable database schemas and optimise database performance.\nDevelop efficient data-access layers using SQLAlchemy ORM, including session management and transaction handling.\nBuild thread-safe, concurrent, asynchronous, and high-throughput backend applications.\nImplement robust microservices and distributed backend architectures.\nContainerise applications using Docker and deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes.\nDeploy and operate backend applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nDevelop and maintain API specifications and documentation using OpenAPI and Swagger.\nOptimise application performance, scalability, reliability, security, and resource utilisation.\nIdentify and resolve complex production issues through debugging and root-cause analysis.\nWrite clean, reusable, testable, and maintainable code following established engineering practices.\nDevelop unit and integration tests and participate in peer code reviews.\nCollaborate with Product, Engineering, DevOps, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver features end-to-end.\nContribute to technical architecture discussions, design reviews, documentation, and engineering standards.\nSupport CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, logging, and production-release activities.\nIdentify opportunities to improve system architecture, automation, performance, and engineering efficiency.\nContribute to backend solutions supporting AI/ML-enabled applications where required.\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit\n8+ years of hands-on experience in Python backend development, with strong experience building production-grade systems.\nExpert-level proficiency in Python 3.x and backend software engineering.\nExtensive experience with FastAPI and/or Flask.\nStrong hands-on expertise with SQLAlchemy ORM, session management, database transactions, and data-access patterns.\nStrong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, asynchronous programming, and thread-safe application development.\nProven experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, including database design, indexing, query optimisation, and performance tuning.\nHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.\nExperience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nStrong understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI, and Swagger.\nGood knowledge of microservices architecture, distributed systems, scalability, and high-availability application design.\nExperience with Git, code reviews, unit testing, and modern software development practices.\nExposure to Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar caching and messaging technologies is an advantage.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is preferred.\nExperience building or integrating AI/ML-enabled applications is an advantage.\nStrong understanding of monitoring, logging, observability, and application performance optimisation.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on scalable and reliable solutions.\nAbility to independently own complex technical initiatives in a fast-paced product environment.\nExcellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.\nFamiliarity with Agile development methodologies and cross-functional engineering
