Working as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, the Research Assistant will contribute to innovative studies investigating how immune responses are shaped by immunotherapy and environmental stressors.\nSelection Criteria\nPersonal Qualities:\nGood communication skills and the ability to work constructively within a team environment.\nAbility to work as part of a team using experimental protocols.\nExcellent attention to detail, ensuring that data, methods and theories are accurate, of high-quality and accessible to other researchers.\nAbility to manage time effectively and be reliable and approachable.\nWilling to take direction and have progress reviewed where required.\nKnowledge and skills:\nBSc with Honours in an appropriate area of study, or relevant experience.\nDemonstrated laboratory research experience (minimum 1 year).\nBasic computer skills and ability to accurately record data, results and the development of new methods and theories.\nProject management, excellent oral and written communication and reporting skills.\nDesirable Skills:\nExperience in animal handling and procedural work, including dosing, injections (intraperitoneal, intravenous and subcutaneous), physiological monitoring and tissue collection\nExperience cellular, molecular and metabolic analyses using a range of techniques, including high-parameter and spectral flow cytometry, cell sorting, molecular biology assays and mammalian cell culture\nExperience in analysing and interpreting biological datasets using platforms such as FlowJo, OMIQ, GraphPad Prism, R and Microsoft Excel\nTerms of Appointment:\nThis position is available for 2 years in a full time capacity. Salary is Research Support Employee Level 5 ($84,479 - $97,036).
