Weibel Scientific is a Danish developer of radar systems based on advanced technology, which are used by customers worldwide in the defence and aerospace industries. It hires technical project managers, system engineers, system architects, safety engineers and bid managers for complex R&D projects. The company is headquartered in Allerød, Denmark.

Lead the architectural design of critical subsystems, turning complex requirements into robust and scalable solutions ready for production.

At Weibel, you will join a rapidly growing, family-owned technology company where curiosity, innovation, and dedication form the foundation of our success. As our new Sub System Architect you will play a key role in shaping the design of our radar solutions. You will work alongside talented, committed colleagues who share a passion for technology.

We are expanding our team and are looking for a Sub System Architect to lead the architecture of key subsystems e.g., pedestals, trailers, cooling, or power from concept to verification. You will translate system needs into robust solutions, interfaces, and guide cross-disciplinary design through specification, reviews, integration, and test. Verifying and developing designs is done by review, simulations, and prototyping.

Your impact

  • Be responsible for the subsystem architecture: define purpose, scope, block diagrams, interfaces, BOM structure, and key design decisions.
  • Requirements flow-down & compliance: allocate system requirements to subsystem level, maintain compliance matrices/SoC, and support traceability through design, test, and verification.
  • Interface leadership: specify and manage interfaces to neighboring subsystems and external equipment and ensure early alignment.
  • Design coordination: collaborate with engineering disciplines Mechanical, Electrical and Software, to meet performance, reliability, maintainability, and safety requirements.
  • Risk & change control: identify technical risks, propose mitigations, and manage changes while safeguarding architectural integrity.
  • Integration & verification: support build, bring-up, test planning, environmental testing (shock, vibration, thermal), and verification reports.
  • Reviews & communication: prepare architecture packages and lead design reviews. Communicate decisions and rationales to stakeholders, and ensure documentation is clear and ready for review.

Your background and experience

  • BSc/MSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Solid systems engineering mindset and preferably a few years of experience from a similar role.
  • Experience with functional decomposition, interfaces, requirements, verification/validation, and standards.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation and lead collaborative reviews.

Your new team

In our R&D department you will join more than 270 highly competent and dedicated colleagues. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, ensuring a seamless transition from design to production. We are dedicated to the ongoing refinement of our processes and the strategic integration of new technologies. We wholeheartedly believe that bringing people with different competencies together will generate the best solutions.
