This role requires hands-on involvement in field activities, ensuring that construction work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and applicable GMP requirements.\nThe Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, subcontractors, Engineering, Facilities, Manufacturing, Quality, and Validation teams to ensure successful project execution while minimizing disruptions to ongoing operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Planning & Construction Coordination\nReview engineering drawings, specifications, construction plans, and project requirements to identify potential conflicts and ensure constructability.\nCoordinate construction activities involving multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, and process systems.\nSupport pre-construction meetings, contractor mobilization, site logistics, and project execution planning.\nCoordinate construction activities with Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and other site departments to minimize operational disruptions.\nContractor Supervision & Field Execution\nOversee General Contractors and subcontractors to ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.\nConduct routine field inspections, construction walkthroughs, and quality checks to identify deficiencies and verify corrective actions.\nCoordinate contractor access, work permits, shutdowns, utility tie-ins, material deliveries, and other site requirements.\nMonitor contractor compliance with site safety procedures, security protocols, housekeeping standards, and GMP requirements.\nWitness and document required construction inspections and testing activities, including pressure testing, welding inspections, and Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB), as applicable.\nSchedule, Cost & Project Controls\nMonitor construction schedules, milestones, critical-path activities, and contractor progress against established project baselines.\nReview short-term construction schedules and coordinate resources, access requirements, and activities to prevent delays.\nTrack procurement activities and delivery schedules for critical equipment and long-lead materials.\nSupport the evaluation of change orders, contractor payment applications, project costs, and schedule impacts.\nIdentify potential project risks, delays, and execution issues, recommending corrective actions and recovery plans.\nDocumentation, Reporting & Communication\nMaintain accurate project documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, inspection records, permits, drawings, and action-item logs.\nCoordinate construction progress meetings, document meeting minutes, and follow up on outstanding action items.\nPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports covering construction activities, schedule status, costs, risks, quality observations, and photographic evidence.\nEnsure proper document control, revision management, and organization of project records in designated systems and shared repositories.\nCoordinate with contractors, vendors, engineering consultants, and site stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues.\nQuality, Commissioning & Project Closeout\nVerify that installed materials, equipment, and construction activities meet approved specifications, drawings, and applicable quality requirements.\nCoordinate inspections, deficiency resolution, punch-list activities, and construction completion walkthroughs.\nSupport commissioning, equipment start-up, functional testing, and qualification activities in coordination with Engineering and Validation teams.\nCollect and review construction turnover documentation, including as-built drawings, redlines, equipment certifications, inspection records, O&M manuals, and warranties.\nCoordinate preparation, completion, and submission of Turnover Packages (TOPs) in accordance with project and Validation requirements, including documentation uploads to SCOPE, as applicable.\nSupport substantial completion, final acceptance, and project closeout activities.\nQualifications & Requirements\nMandatory Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent relevant experience.\nExperience supporting engineering, construction, or capital projects within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, industrial, laboratory, or similar environments.\nExperience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary construction activities.\nWorking knowledge of engineering drawings, construction specifications, field inspections, and construction documentation.\nExperience with project scheduling, progress tracking, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project reporting.\nKnowledge of construction safety practices, applicable codes, and quality requirements.\nStrong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder coordination skills.\nAbility to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.\nAvailability to support construction activities during shutdowns, weekends, nights, or extended hours when required by project schedules.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience executing capital projects in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.\nExperience coordinating construction activities in active manufacturing environments.\nFamiliarity with commissioning, qualification, validation, and construction turnover documentation.\nExperience preparing or coordinating Turnover Packages (TOPs), contractor certifications, punch lists, and as-built documentation.\nProficiency with project management and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar applications.\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary construction activities involving utilities, HVAC,
