Through innovative engineering and technology, we support the mining industry in delivering the resources needed for a rapidly changing world.\nPosition Summary\nThe Application Engineer applies technical expertise and industry knowledge to develop equipment solutions that meet customer requirements. This role works closely with customers, sales teams, engineering, operations, and supply chain partners to perform equipment selections, develop technical proposals, manage orders, and provide application support throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will help improve customer productivity, equipment reliability, safety, and operational performance while building long-term customer relationships.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform detailed pump selections based on customer requirements and operating conditions to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.\nCollaborate with customers and sales teams to understand operational challenges and recommend technical solutions.\nDevelop technical and commercial proposal packages, including equipment recommendations, project costing, sourcing evaluations, and delivery considerations.\nMaintain accurate project and opportunity information within sales pipeline systems.\nEnter orders into SAP and coordinate complete project handoffs to ensure alignment across departments.\nReview technical specifications and identify long-lead items to support efficient project execution.\nProvide technical support throughout the quoting, order, and project execution process.\nSupport and promote a strong safety culture through a commitment to Weir's Zero Harm principles.\nTravel occasionally to customer sites as business needs require.\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nStrong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to interpret technical specifications and application requirements.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nPreferred\nExperience in a mining equipment, industrial equipment, or custom manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge of fluid mechanics and pump selection principles.\nExperience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.\nExperience developing technical proposals and supporting customer projects.\n0-2 years of engineering experience, including internships or co-op experience.\nWhy Join Weir?\nAt Weir, you'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that support critical industries worldwide.
