In this role, you will contribute to technologies that play a key role in global resource supply and the energy transition.\nWeir is a global engineering company with a strong focus on sustainable technologies for mining and infrastructure, and a market leader in many product segments.\nYour responsibilities\nIn this role, you will work hands-on on real machines and assemblies and take ownership of concrete engineering deliverables:\nDesign & Engineering\nCreate and further develop 3D CAD models and assemblies (e.g., structural components, drive systems, housings)\nDesign components considering load cases, tolerances, materials, and manufacturability\nProduce detailed manufacturing drawings including GD&T, welding specifications, and surface requirements\nDocumentation & Data Management\nCreate and maintain bills of materials (BOM), data packages, and technical documentation\nWork with PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter) to manage revisions and approvals\nEnsure all designs comply with relevant standards (ISO, internal standards) and customer requirements\nEngineering Changes & Lifecycle\nInitiate and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN)\nTrack changes from concept through implementation in production and aftermarket\nSupport the standardization of components and assemblies\nProject & Stakeholder Collaboration\nAdapt standard designs to project-specific customer requirements (design-to-order)\nCollaborate closely with manufacturing, procurement, quality management, and global engineering teams\nParticipate in design reviews, risk analyses (FMEA), and technical clarifications\nSafety First\nDemonstrate 100% commitment to “Zero Harm” behavior and contribute to a world-class safety culture\nYour focus will be on engineering execution, technical quality, and the practical applicability of your designs.\nWhat makes this role special\nYou work on real machines, not just concepts\nYou see the direct impact of your work\nYou can deepen your technical expertise or grow into project responsibility\nWhy Weir?\nHealth & Wellbeing\nOur global health and wellness framework supports mental, physical, and financial wellbeing, as well as a safe and supportive working environment.\nCreate your own path\nThere are no fixed career paths at Weir - we give you the freedom and support to grow and shape your own development.\nBe yourself and belong\nWe offer an inclusive work environment where diversity is valued and every individual contributes to success.\nKnowledge, Education and Qualifications\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent\n1-7 years of experience in design/engineering (industrial plants, mechanical engineering, or similar)\nExperience with 3D CAD (e.g., NX, Creo, SolidWorks)\nGood understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and tolerances\nExperience with PLM systems and BOMs is an advantage\nStructured, detail-oriented, and independent working style\nGood English skills;
