You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.\nWhat you’ll do\nSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.\nGMR 2.1 / Legal Appointment Responsibilities: Fulfil statutory and safety obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, ensuring machinery, plant and facilities are maintained safely and compliant. Manage inspections, certifications, risk assessments and incident investigations. Liaise with stakeholders and enforce corrective actions to maintain compliance. \nFacility Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of buildings, infrastructure and critical systems such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection. Develop preventive maintenance programs, coordinate repairs and manage contractors to ensure minimal operational disruption. \nPlant, Equipment and Asset Maintenance: Implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and asset life. Monitor performance metrics, conduct root-cause analyses and lead reliability improvement initiatives. Manage critical spares and maintenance backlog effectively. \nMaintenance Planning and Management: Develop and execute annual and long-term maintenance plans aligned with operational goals. Manage KPIs, planned shutdowns, resource optimization and budget control. Ensure maintenance activities follow approved procedures and safety standards. \nCAPEX Management: Identify and develop capital expenditure needs based on asset condition and business priorities. Prepare scopes, business cases and manage CAPEX projects from initiation to handover, ensuring compliance with company policies and technical requirements. \nProject Management: Lead engineering and maintenance projects, coordinating resources, managing risks and ensuring quality and timely delivery with minimal operational impact. Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned. \nContractor Management: Oversee contractors to ensure compliance with safety, technical, and statutory requirements. Monitor performance, conduct reviews, and implement corrective actions as needed. \nPeople Management: Lead and develop the maintenance team, set performance expectations, conduct reviews, identify training needs, and foster teamwork and continuous improvement.\nProcurement, Stores and Cost Control: Manage maintenance budgets, approve purchases, control spares inventory, collaborate with procurement for supplier selection and seek cost optimization opportunities.\nWhat you’ll bring\nMust-haves:\nDegree or National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related Engineering, or relevant technical qualification with significant maintenance management experience.\nA valid Government Certificate of Competency (GCC).\nAppropriate GMR 2.1 competency, appointment and experience as required by the applicable legislation and operating environment.\nMinimum 5-10 years’ experience managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams in industrial, manufacturing, mining, or large-facility environments.\nProven expertise in maintenance strategy, statutory compliance and contractor management.\nStrong leadership, decision-making and communication skills with a safety-first mindset.\nNice-to-haves:\nMBA or Project Management certification.\nWhy join Weir?\nWe live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers.
