Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.\nMake your impact\nWe are searching for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to assist with repairing and maintaining products delivered to the Service Centre and in Customer operations.\nOffering a family friendly Monday to Friday roster and much more:\nMonday - Thursday 6am - 2.30pm\n\nFriday 5am - 11am\n\nOvertime available through the week\n\nAll uniforms, tools and PPE provided.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.\n\nStripping, maintaining, repairing and reporting on customer pumps both in the Townsville Service Centre and occasionally at customer operations\n\nProviding informed recommendations to enhance product performance, service quality and workshop processes\n\nPlaying an active role in implementing the Weir Production System within the Rebuild Centre\n\nSupporting mine shutdowns by attending customer sites when required\n\nWhat you'll bring\nCert III - Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning\n\nExperience in mechanical fitting in a workshop and onsite environments\n\nExperience leading and mentoring a team of fitters\n\nWell developed written and verbal communication skills\n\nHigh Risk Fork lift ticket - required\n\nOverhead crane & doggers ticket - highly desirable\n\nCurrent Drivers License\n\nWhy join Weir\nWe live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers.
