You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.\nPosition Summary\nWe are seeking a Hose Buff & Test Technician to join our growing industrial manufacturing team. This role is responsible for preparing, finishing, and hydrostatically testing custom-engineered industrial hoses used in mining and oil sands applications.\nThe ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and willing to learn a highly specialized process. No direct hose testing experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare cured industrial hoses for testing by removing excess material and finishing surfaces.\nOperate grinders, cutting tools, hand tools, and torque equipment.\nInstall and remove test flanges and hardware.\nConduct hydrostatic pressure testing according to engineering specifications.\nMeasure and document hose expansion during pressure testing.\nRecord and submit testing results to Quality Assurance.\nOperate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.\nRead and follow engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.\nAssist with draining, painting, packaging, and shipping preparation.\nMaintain a safe and organized work environment.\nQualifications\nRequired\nStrong commitment to workplace safety.\nAbility to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.\nMechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team.\nAbility to lift up to 35 lbs.\nComfortable using hand and power tools.\nPreferred\nExperience in manufacturing, construction, automotive, welding, fabrication, maintenance, or related trades.\nExperience using grinders, power tools, forklifts, or overhead cranes.\nAbility to read blueprints or technical drawings.\nWorking Conditions\nIndustrial manufacturing environment.\nExposure to rubber dust, grinding operations, and industrial equipment.\nExtensive use of PPE and safety procedures.\nWork performed in enclosed testing and production areas.\nTraining & Career Growth\nTraining period of approximately 3-6 months on day shift.\nTransition to night shift upon successful completion of training.\nLong-term career development opportunities and skill-based wage progression.\nBenefits ⦿ Competitive pay ⦿ Career development and learning support ⦿ Access to global inclusion networks ⦿ Regional and team-specific benefits ⦿ Sharebuilder scheme ⦿ Wellness support for you and your family ⦿ Collaboration with global teams ⦿ Study support\nWhy join Weir? \nWe live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers.
